摘要: The present invention is directed to a portable electronic game device programmed for playing poker, particularly “No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em” against a plurality of virtual opponents or players that each have predefined characteristics, the device having a personal computer interface, a memory accumulator for cumulatively storing earned points, and a means of communication with a hosted website or remote server computer that tracks unique identifiers for the game device and its associated player and allows the player to compete with other players for prizes based on the total accumulated points earned by the individual player or to obtain universal rankings. The invention also relates to methods of using such a portable game device.

摘要: A seamless solution transparently addresses the characteristics of nomadic systems, and enables existing network applications to run reliably in mobile environments. A Mobility Management Server coupled to the mobile network maintains the state of each of any number of Mobile End Systems and handles the complex session management required to maintain persistent connections to the network and to other peer processes. If a Mobile End System becomes unreachable, suspends, or changes network address (e.g., due to roaming from one network interconnect to another), the Mobility Management Server maintains the connection to the associated peer task—allowing the Mobile End System to maintain a continuous connection even though it may temporarily lose contact with its network medium. An interface-based listener uses network point of attachment information supplied by a network interface to determine roaming conditions and to efficiently reestablish connection upon roaming. The Mobility Management Server can distribute lists to Mobile End Systems specifying how to contact it over disjoint networks.

摘要: A seamless solution transparently addresses the characteristics of nomadic systems, and enables existing network applications to run reliably in mobile environments. The solution extends the enterprise network, letting network managers provide mobile users with easy access to the same applications as stationary users without sacrificing reliability or centralized management. The solution combines advantages of existing wire-line network standards with emerging mobile standards to create a solution that works with existing network applications. In one example, Mobility Management Server communicates with Mobile End Systems using Remote Procedure Call and Internet Mobility Protocols.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for tracking the thermal age of a self-regulating heating cable. Over a time period, current and voltage data for a cable signal are collected, from which spectral information is extracted. The spectral information has a frequency component and an amplitude component. The cable signal is processed to extract a line frequency signature that includes the electrical system's line current frequency and at least some of its harmonics. A ratio of the amplitudes of at least two of the odd harmonics of the line current frequency is calculated. The ratio is compared to an aging curve indicating the thermal age of the cable as a function of the odd-harmonic ratios. The curve may be obtained in a laboratory setting or in the field by characterizing a cable with zero hours of use. The characterizing may include aging the cable to determine the curve.

摘要: A method for communicating Internet Protocol data over a network, comprises providing an IPv4 data stream and providing an IPv6 data stream. An encrypted Internet Protocol communications tunnel is established through the network between a roaming mobile device and a further computing device. The IPv4 and IPv6 data streams are combined for encapsulation within and transmission through said encrypted tunnel. Continual secure communications of the encapsulated IPv4 and IPv6 data streams is maintained between said roaming mobile device and the further computing device while the roaming mobile device roams between network access points. The encapsulated, transmitted IPv4 and IPv6 data streams are received from said tunnel, and the received IPv4 and IPv6 data streams are demultiplexed.

摘要: System and methods for protecting sensitive data stored in a text-based configuration file. In a web server application, data associated with sensitive information such as connection information for a remote database may be stored within a configuration file and accessed whenever a request for information from that database is received. To prevent unwanted access to remote database, the portion of the configuration file with sensitive information is encrypted. A decryption provider selected by the requesting server or client application decrypts the sensitive data using the decryption key, retrieves protected data from the remote database, and the configuration server provides a response based on the sensitive data protecting access to the remote database. The encryption/decryption process is transparent to the web server application consuming the configuration.
