Abstract:
A system and method to control media display functions is disclosed. A system includes a processing logic and memory accessible to the processing logic. The memory includes instructions executable by the processing logic to perform a method including receiving input associated with a media display function. The instructions are also executable by the processing logic to determine one or more media devices to be controlled. The instructions are also executable by the processing logic to send first control data adapted to cause the media display function to be implemented at a first media device when the first media device is to be controlled. The instructions are also executable by the processing logic to send second control data when the first media device and a second media device are to be controlled concurrently. The second control data is adapted to cause the media display function to be implemented at the first media device and at the second media device.
Abstract:
A system and apparatus for supplying media content to portable communication devices is disclosed. An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure can include, for example, a Set-Top Box (STB) having a cellular transceiver and a controller element to direct the cellular transceiver to transmit a media guide for the STB to a terminal device for presentation on a display unit of the terminal device. Additional embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract:
A heat exchanger comprises a plurality of plates (7, 9, 11, 13) each having first (15, 19) and second (17, 21) heat transfer surfaces on reverse sides. The plates are arranged in a stack with spacings between mutually facing heat transfer surfaces of adjacent plates. Alternate spacings in the stack providing respectively, a first fluid path (51, 52) for a first fluid and a second fluid path (57, 59) for a second fluid. The plates are arranged in a plurality of groups, each comprising at least two plates. Pin means are provided in the form of a plurality of groups of pins (23). The pins of each pin group are arranged to bridge plates of a respective plate group.
Abstract:
A golf ball holder is disclosed that holds a plurality of golf balls, each golf ball being independently removable from the holder without the need to remove one of the other balls first. The holder can be attached to a golf bag either permanently or temporarily. The holder is made from a flexible fabric with openings at a first end and a second end. Golf balls are slipped into the holder from either end. The golf balls are fitted within a location where an opening is made in the holder. The opening allows the user to see whether a ball is available as well as the type of ball. The opening can stretch to allow the user to remove the golf ball through the opening rather than through one of the end openings. The openings where the golf balls are held can also be large enough to insert a golf ball into the holder. The holder can be sewn to an outside portion of the golf bag, typically near the top for easy access. The holder can be attached via a hook and eye attachment means, such as Velcro, or with clips or buckles, or a combination of either. In one embodiment, the holder has room to hold three golf balls, each ball having its own opening to show whether a ball is within the holder and what type of ball it is. Further, the ball holder is made of neoprene in one embodiment, but can also be made from other durable materials that can stretch and compress in order to hold the balls securely in place.
Abstract:
A system and method for presenting advertising, the method including but not limited to presenting on a first end user device, a first personalized advertisement in a first avatar's view of a virtual world and presenting on a second end user device, a second personalized advertisement in a second avatar's view of the virtual world.
Abstract:
Described are compositions and methods relating to variant filamentous fungi having altered growth characteristics. Such variants are well-suited for growth in submerged cultures, e.g., for the large-scale production of enzymes and other proteins for commercial applications.

Abstract:
Soft sided bags having a flexible frame system are disclosed and described herein. A plurality of structure forming frame members engage guides in the bag body to provide the soft sided bag with a resilient structure, and to further provide content protection and accessibility. Soft sided bag may use structure forming frame members with varying levels of stiffness to provide a desired structure to the soft sided bag. A unique structure forming frame member is disclosed which includes an outer sheath and inner rod that gives the bag body structure, durability, flexibility, resiliency, and differing degrees of restorative force along one continuous member. Various non-limiting configurations are disclosed that provide the soft sided bag with a desired shape as well as the ability to collapse to smaller configurations.
Abstract:
Signals from a remote control device may be received in a first viewing area and retransmitted to a second viewing area to control customer premises equipment (CPE) devices in the second viewing area. In some embodiments, signals are translated for compatibility with the CPE devices in the second viewing area. A repeater in the first viewing area may receive infrared signals encoded with a remote control command and retransmit the remote control command with an RF signal to a receiver in the second viewing area. The repeater may be incorporated into a multimedia processing resource such as a set-top box.
