Abstract:
A gastrostomy tube extension device which can facilitate the insertion or removal operation in and from the patient, and increase the simplicity of manufacture. A gastrostomy tube extension device for inserting or taking out the gastrostomy tube into/from the patient includes a rod, a fixing member, and an engaging member. The rod is formed of a rod-shaped member with engaging stepped portions. The fixing member is capable of moving along the longitudinal direction of the rod, and an engaging projection which can be fixed to the tube member is formed on the peripheral surface of the fixing member. The engaging member includes a lower engaging portion engageable with the engaging projection and an upper engaging portion which is engageable with the engaging stepped portion This assembly allows the extension to be locked.
Abstract:
Certain embodiments of the present invention include a male luer connector having a valve arrangement for keeping a passage that extends through the male luer connector closed when the male luer connector is not attached to a corresponding female luer connector. This passage of the male luer connector may be opened by connecting the male luer connector to a female luer connector. The valve arrangement of the male luer connector may include a movable sealing element arranged around a central fluid conduit. In some embodiments, the male luer connector may include a filter that is permeable to gas, but substantially impermeable to liquid, thus allowing gas to be purged from the male luer connector while substantially preventing liquid from leaking from the connector at least when the male luer connector is not connected to a female luer connector.
Abstract:
A base station apparatus having eight antennas and configured to communicate with a mobile station apparatus includes: a power adjustment unit which has a function of adjusting the power of a base station apparatus specific reference signal, the power of a mobile station apparatus specific reference signal, the power of a control signal and the power of a data signal on the basis of power adjustment values shown in FIG. 5 including information on the power of the base station apparatus specific reference signal, the power of the mobile station apparatus specific reference signal, the power of the control signal and the power of the data signal; and a transmission unit which has a function of informing the mobile station apparatus of the power of the data signal. With this configuration, the base station apparatus having eight antennas can inform the mobile station apparatus of the power of the data signal.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling an occupant restraint apparatus are provided which allow the force applied to a nearby occupant to be optimized in response to collision conditions. In one form, a method for controlling an occupant restraint apparatus includes detecting an obstacle in a travelling direction of a vehicle that may potentially collide with the vehicle; predicting a type of collision between the obstacle detected and the vehicle; setting conditions for expanding an airbag of the vehicle based on the collision type predicted; and controlling the expansion of the airbag and/or gas discharge from the airbag according to the conditions set at the setting step. Detecting the obstacle preferably includes detecting the position and relative speed of the obstacle with respect to the vehicle based on images of views in the travelling direction of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A roller clamp is configured to maintain at a prescribed rate the flow rate of a fluid that flows through a tube. The roller clamp includes a tube winding shaft part around which a fluid flow tube is passed and which prevents the setting of the flow rate being disturbed if the tube is subject to a tensional force.
Abstract:
An airbag has a first inner panel and a second inner panel arranged substantially in a concentric relation with a front panel and a rear panel in an interior of an airbag, and outer peripheral edge portions are stitched to each other by a high-strength seam. A center portion of the first inner panel is stitched to a center portion of the front panel by a seam. A center portion of the second inner panel is connected to a center portion of the rear panel by a retaining ring. The second inner panel is formed with a communication port between a first chamber and a second chamber. Midsections of the inner panels between the outer peripheral edge portions and the center portions are connected by a tear seam. The tear seam is adapted to be broken when the pressure in the first chamber reaches a predetermined pressure.
Abstract:
An airbag to be inflated by gas for a vehicle includes a base member for the airbag, an opening and closing vent provided in the base member, and a discharging gas control member for restraining gas from discharging from the opening and closing vent. The discharging gas control member closes or slightly opens the opening and closing vent when an occupant does not contact a front surface of the airbag facing the occupant when the airbag is inflated. The discharging gas control member opens or widely opens the opening and closing vent so as to allow the gas to be discharged from the opening and closing vent when the occupant contacts the front surface of the airbag, and the front surface is pushed in a direction opposite to the occupant.
Abstract:
An airbag and an airbag device, a vent hole of which remains closed or is made open to a small extent until the internal pressure of the airbag becomes equal or more than predetermined, and becomes opened or is made open to a large extent when the internal pressure of the airbag becomes equal or more than predetermined and also when an occupant comes in contact with the airbag. A vent hole 18 is provided to a rear panel 14 of an airbag 10, and is covered with a cover member 60 from the inside of the airbag 10. A hanging rope 80 connecting a front panel 12 and the rear panel 14 in the inside of the airbag 10 is connected to the cover member 60 with a tether 70. On the center side of the airbag 10 with respect to the vent hole 18, the tether 70 is sandwiched between the front panel 12 and the rear panel 14, and these are joined together with line-like joining portions 22, 24 so as to be disengageable.
Abstract:
An internal part of an airbag is partitioned into a first chamber and a second chamber by first and second inner panels. Each of outer peripheral edge portions of the inner panels is stitched by a tear seam. Overhanging portions protrude from outer peripheries of each of the first and second inner panels, and each of the overhanging portions is stitched by a seam. The thickness of the airbag is relatively small by a continuum of the first inner panel and the second inner panel until the internal pressure of the first chamber reaches a predetermined pressure. At the predetermined pressure, the tear seam is broken, and each of the first and second inner panels is separated resulting in an increase in the thickness of the airbag. The airbag sufficiently absorbs the impact of the occupant, and does so in a relatively soft manner.
Abstract:
An infection-preventing gastrostomy catheter kit to be used in the gastrostomy, which can pass an intragastric retainer of a catheter easily and reliably through an infection-preventing sheath by an easy maneuver, and which can reduce the diameter of the infection-preventing sheath. The catheter kit comprises: a gastrostomy catheter 20 including a flexible, hollow PEG tube 21 reinforced with filaments 24, an deformable intragastric retainer 23 positioned at the trailing end of the PEG tube 21, and a tapered member 22 positioned at the leading end of the PEG tube 21 for retaining the leading end portion 40a of a guide wire 40 inserted from a leading end hole 22a thereof; and an infection-preventing sheath 1 including a flexible, hollow tubular body 2, and a socket member having a socket 4 positioned at the trailing end of the tubular body 2 for retaining the intragastric retainer 23, and pins 5, thereby removably sheathing the gastrostomy catheter 20. The gastrostomy catheter 20 may be provided with a housing sheath 60 for deforming and housing the intragastric retainer 23.
