Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing advertisement optimization services are disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, of analyzing a first set of images hosted by the web-publisher for display on the website. One embodiment can include, analyzing metadata associated with a set of advertisements available to the web-publisher for placement on the website, and identifying an advertisement suitable for placement on a webpage of the website for a fee.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for the preparation of phosphine-aminophosphines that are useful in the formation of catalysts useful in carrying out a wide variety of reactions such as asymmetric hydrogenations, asymmetric reductions, asymmetric hydroborations, asymmetric olefin isomerizations, asymmetric hydrosilations, asymmetric allylations, asymmetric conjugate additions, and asymmetric organometallic additions. The process comprises the steps of (1) contacting a compound of formula 2 R2P—L—NHR3 2 with phosphorus trihalide PX3 in the presence of an inert, organic solvent and an acid acceptor to produce intermediate compound having formula 3 (2) contacting intermediate compound 3 with a reactant having the formula R1—M1, R2—M1 or a mixture thereof.
Abstract:
Poly(3-cyclopropyl-3-hydroxypropionates) (I) which are useful for the preparation of vinylcyclopropane and cyclopropylacetylene are disclosed. Methods for the preparation of a variety of intermediates obtained from (I) such as 3-cyclopropyl-3-hydroxypropionic acid and esters and salts thereof, 3-cyclopropylacrylic acids and vinylcyclopropane also are disclosed.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a 4-step process for the preparation of alkyl esters of 1-methylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid which comprises the steps of (1) converting &ggr;-butyrolactone to &agr;-methyl-&ggr;-butyrolactone; (2) converting the &agr;-methyl-&ggr;-butyrolactone from step (1) to an alkyl 4-halo-2-methylbutyrate; (3) producing a xylene solution of the alkyl 4-halo-2-methylbutyrate; and (4) contacting the xylene solution of an alkyl 4-halo-2-methylbutyrate from step (3) with an alkali metal alkoxide under conditions of temperature and pressure which causes vaporization of (i) an alkanol as it is formed and (ii) an alkyl 1-methylcyclopropanecarboxylate as it is formed from the alkyl 4-halo-2-methylbutyrate. Also disclosed are processes whereby the alkyl 1-methylcyclopropanecarboxylate, prepared as described above, is converted to 1-methylcyclopropylamine.
Abstract:
The catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation of enol esters with a vinyllic or acetylenic substituent proceeds with extremely high enantioselectivity using a Rhodium-chiral bisphosphine catalyst. This is at variance with the hydrogenation of enol esters bearing a saturated substituent, which are hydrogenated with only marginal enantioselectivity under the same conditions.
Abstract:
Disclosed is apparatus 100 for the reduction or removal of smoke particles suspended in a local atmosphere A and resulting from a surgical procedure, the apparatus including or comprising two electrodes 140 and 150 each in electrical communication with or being electrically connectable to opposite poles of a source of high voltage dc electricity. A first of the electrodes 140 may be electrically connectable to a patient P. and a second 150 may be positionable within or adjacent a patient such that the two electrodes, when in communication with opposite poles of said high voltage, ionize said particles in use, for attracting said particles toward the patient or toward the second of the electrodes.
Abstract:
A process for producing surface-active quaternary ammonium esters is provided. These esters are advantageously prepared in high yield and purity by a chemo-enzymatic process. These compounds have excellent surfactant properties.
Abstract:
A variety of betaine esters, including dial kylaminoalkyl cocoate betaines. These betaines were advantageously prepared in high yield and purity by a three-step chemoenzymatic process. These betaine esters have excellent surfactant properties.
Abstract:
Carbonates of anti-aging ingredients, in particular anti-oxidants and skin illuminating phenol ingredients, have been prepared as derivatives of these ingredients with enhanced physical properties. It has been demonstrated that these carbonates will hydrolyze under enzymatic catalysis to release the parent ingredient. In contrast, esters of the phenolic groups in many cases do not hydrolyze under the same conditions.
