Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that associates an error in a layout with a cell. During operation, the system receives a layout which is designed to create a target feature with an intended shape. Next, the system determines an error in a critical dimension of the target feature. The system then identifies a cell in the layout based on the error's location in the layout, thereby associating the error with the cell. Note that associating errors with cells allows the errors to be summarized based on the associated cells, which can reduce the amount of time required to identify and fix the errors.
Abstract:
A method for routing orders for financial instruments among users is provided. A first order for one of a plurality of financial instruments is received from a first user, wherein the first order, which includes undisclosed liquidity, includes a first symbol component identifying the one of the plurality of financial instruments, a first side component identifying the order as one of a buy order or a sell order, a first price per unit component, and a first unit quantity. An intention to trade message is sent to each of a plurality of users and the intention to trade message includes information indicative of the first side, first symbol, first price per unit component, and first unit quantity. Information is received regarding one or more orders containing undisclosed liquidity which have been sent to a trade execution entity by one or more of the plurality of users. Based on said information, a responsive order is sent to the trade execution entity to hit or take the undisclosed liquidity.
Abstract:
An optoelectronic display device comprises an organic light emitting diode microdisplay 1 and a viewing convex lens 2 arranged at a distance from the microdisplay which may be less than, equal to or greater than the focal length of the lens.
Abstract:
Zinc finger proteins of the Cys2His2 type represent a class of malleable DNA binding proteins which may be selected to bind diverse sequences. Typically, zinc finger proteins containing three zinc finger domains, like the murine transcription factor Zif268 and the human transcription factor Spl, bind nine contiguous base pairs (bp). To create a class of proteins which would be generally applicable to target unique sites within complex genomes, the present invention provides a polypeptide linker that fuses two three-finger proteins. Two six-fingered proteins were created and demonstrated to bind 18 contiguous bp of DNA in a sequence specific fashion. Expression of these proteins as fusions to activation or repression domains allows transcription to be specifically up or down modulated within cells. Polydactyl zinc finger proteins are broadly applicable as genome-specific transcriptional switches in gene therapy strategies and the development of novel transgenic plants and animals. Such proteins are useful for inhibiting, activating or enhancing gene expression from a zinc finger-nucleotide binding motif containing promoter or other transcriptional control element, as well as a structural gene or RNA sequence.
Abstract:
A valve apparatus (2) for selectively distributing the sequential passage of separate, organic fluids to a common receiver, such as a reaction vessel. The valve apparatus comprises a valve body member (16) having multiple openings (56) and a plurality of separate conduits (54) each communicating a fluid source with one of the openings. The body member also has a common passage (60) with circular groove portions (62) surrounding the openings so that fluid flows radially outward from the openings toward the common passage. A plurality of pistons (30) are individually reciprocable between first and second positions for controlling fluid flow between associated openings and the common passage. The invention also provides a system (100) and method for measuring and delivering a precise quantity of each of the organic fluids, e.g., chemical reagents, to the reaction vessel.

Abstract:
Method for determining at least one characteristic of a casing cemented in a borehole, such as cement bond and casing thickness, from a reflected acoustic signal S(t) obtained by directing an acoustic pulse at a substantially normal incidence towards a radial sector of the wall of the casing, the pulse stimulating thickness resonance within the walls of the casing. The method according to the invention comprises the steps of: determining a first time window corresponding to a first portion of signal S(t) including the initial reflection from the casing and subsequent acoustic returns due to resonance, determining a second time window corresponding to a second portion of signal S(t) mainly including the initial reflection from the casing, and determining the casing characteristic from information related to resonance contained in the first time window while normalizing the information by information contained within the second time window.
