According to an embodiment, a first dummy pattern is formed on a substrate; a second dummy pattern is formed to be overlapped with the first dummy pattern; and a third dummy pattern is formed to provide an electrical connection between the first dummy pattern and the second dummy pattern.

A layout method for a mask can include creating dummy pattern inhibiting regions and a single dummy pattern type for a layer. A cell can be formed in which a first main pattern is formed. A second main pattern can be formed in a main chip layout, and the cell can be inserted into the main chip. A dummy pattern inhibiting region can be created on the basis of the first main pattern and the second main pattern. Then, a single dummy pattern type can be formed over the entire main chip layout. Dummy patterns that interact with the dummy pattern inhibiting region can be removed.

In a two-way backlight assembly and a two-way LCD apparatus, the two-way backlight assembly provides light emitted from one light source to a first direction where a main LCD panel is placed and to a second direction where a sub LCD panel is placed. Also, a sub mold part for receiving the sub LCD panel comprises a black-colored material so as to prevent reflection of the light. Accordingly, thickness and power consumption of the backlight assembly may be reduced and display quality may be also improved by preventing leakage of the light at ends of the sub LCD panel.

The semiconductor memory device includes a bit line sense amplifier, a sense amplifying driver and an over driving controller. The over driving controller includes a delay unit for delaying an input signal, a supply voltage detector for detecting the level of the supply voltage VDD, a delaying controller for controlling a delay time of the delay unit in response to an output of the supply voltage detector, and an output unit for outputting a over driving pulse, whose width is controlled according to the fluctuation of the supply voltage VDD, by performing a logic operation to the input signal and an output of the delay unit.

A method of providing an external input list using item grouping and a video apparatus adopting the same are disclosed. The video apparatus includes a combination unit combining an image to be displayed with specified information, and a control unit creating an external input list including at least one external input group item to which at least one external input item is subordinate as a lower item, and controlling the combination unit to combine the image to be displayed with the created external input list. Accordingly, more simplified external input list is provided to a user and the user can select the external input more quickly and conveniently.

A predictive coding in a video coding system, which can enhance the coding efficiency by predictively coding DC coefficients of a block to be coded using DC gradients of a plurality of previously coded neighboring blocks. The predictive coefficient is selected according to the difference between the quantized DC gradients (coefficients) of a plurality of neighboring blocks of the block to be coded, and the DC coefficient of the block to be coded is predictively coded by the selected predictive coefficient, thereby enhancing the coding efficiency.
