Abstract:
An example device for processing a query for a physical asset includes a processor and a computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations. The operations may include receiving a query for a physical asset from a requesting device, determining a near field communication node that detects the physical asset, and providing to the requesting device an identification of a communication device that is associated with the near field communication node in response to the query.
Abstract:
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving registration information indicating a plurality of registered communication devices in proximity to a set-top box, the plurality of registered communication devices being registered according to a communication exchange between the set-top box and each of the plurality of registered communication devices, identifying a group of users associated with the plurality of registered communication devices, and determining characteristics for the group of users according to the identifying of the group of users, correlating the characteristics for the group of users, selecting a directed advertisement according to the correlating of the characteristics, and providing the directed advertisement to the set-top box for presentation. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract:
Methods, computer-readable media and devices for calculating fraud scores for pending payment transactions are disclosed. A method includes a processor receiving a request for a fraud score. The request comprises a notification of a pending payment transaction that is associated with a credit card of a user and associated with a first location. The processor then detects a location of a device associated with the user, calculates a fraud score based upon the location of the device and the first location, and sends a response comprising the fraud score that is calculated.
Abstract:
Methods, computer-readable media and apparatuses to identify UE performance and to optimize network performance are disclosed. A processor receives a reported channel quality indicator value from a user equipment, wherein the reported channel quality indicator value is used for setting an initial modulation and an initial coding rate, determines a calibrated channel quality indicator value based on historical data for the user equipment and applies the calibrated channel quality indicator value that determines a calibrated modulation and a calibrated coding rate instead of the initial modulation and the initial coding rate based on the channel quality indicator value received from the user equipment, wherein the receiving, the determining and the applying are continuously performed while the user equipment is in a radio resource control connected mode.
Abstract:
The accuracy of a location determination mechanism may be determined as compared to another location determination mechanism. Dialing 9-1-1 on a mobile communication device may trigger location determination of the device via a GPS-based mechanism. The location information may be time stamped. The location and time information may be provided to a network. The network may determine the location of the device via network infrastructure. The network may time stamp this second set of locations. The determination of the locations of the device via GPS and via the network infrastructure may occur approximately during the same time frame. The first set of locations and the second set of locations may be time aligned, and the differences between the two sets may be utilized to determine the accuracy of network-infrastructure-based location determination mechanism as compared to the GPS-based location determination mechanism.
Abstract:
Determining referenced based location information for a wireless radio network is described. Referenced based location information can include determining location reference information and corresponding location offset information based on location information. In an aspect, location information can be timed fingerprint location information. Location offset information can be communicated in a wireless network at a lower operational cost than the associated location information. As such, use of referenced based location information for a wireless network can reduce bandwidth consumption as compared to location information communicated at similar intervals. This is particularly true in large wireless networks. Moreover, the use of referenced based location information for determining timed fingerprint location information can be highly attractive in light of timed fingerprint location information facilitating location information for many non-GPS enabled devices and being associated with significant increases in the frequency and density of location event requests.
