摘要: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for selecting one or more Diversity Handover (DHO) nodes, such as a Node B or a Radio Network Controller (RNC) executing a macro diversity functionality, in a mobile telecommunication system wherein the macro diversity functionality is distributed to one or a plurality of DHO nodes such as a RNC and its connected Node B(s) in said network. The method comprises the steps of: a. -obtaining topology information comprising a hop-by-hop route from the RNC to each of its connected Node Bs and at least one metric for each hop in the route, and b. -using an algorithm for selecting one or more DHO node(s), whereby the algorithm comprises the steps of: -forming a macro diversity tree of the routes by means of the obtained topology information, and—selecting the Node B(s) and/or the RNC and/or other DHO enabled node(s), resulting in the best accumulated metric for all potential data flows between the RNC and its connected Node B(s) in the macro diversity tree of routes, as the DHO node(s).

摘要: The invention concerns the bit error resilience of an IP protocol stack based on a secure link layer, in which packet flows are header compressed according to a suitable header compression standard. By analyzing each packet at the link layer, it can be determined whether the packet is a full header packet, in which case the link layer checksum evaluation is used as normal for discarding faulty full header packets, or a header compressed packet, in which case the link layer checksum evaluation is ignored and the packet is propagated upwards in the protocol stack. This solution not only allows for more intelligent higher-level handling of faulty header compressed packets, but also solves the problem of properly protecting full header packets at the link layer. In order to compensate for ignoring the link layer checksum evaluation for header compressed packets, header protection is introduced at the header compression level of the link layer by using one or more local checksums. The invention is particularly applicable to delay-sensitive real-time data such as compressed voice or video.

摘要: The soft state of a header compression scheme in a communication system carrying packet traffic including a real time communication signal can be updated during periods of communication signal inactivity, during which there is no need to transmit the communication signal. The header compression soft state can also be updated by stealing bits from the communication signal to carry the header update information. If the communication signal includes source encoded data, the header compression soft state can be updated selectively based on the bit rate of a codec that produced the source encoded data.

摘要: A Network Reporting Entity (NRE) and a User Equipment (UE) as well as a respective method therein for use in a wireless communication network for enabling controlling data transfer between the UE and a network cache are provided. The NRE receives, from the UE, a request to start reporting network status and transmits, to the UE, information regarding the status of the network, the information pertaining to whether network condition is in a state where a data transfer is preferred or not, wherein the NRE obtains the information regarding the status of the network from the Network Conditions Information Entity (NCIE). In this manner, the UE is enabled to control the data transfer between the UE and the network cache.

摘要: A method in a network node for handling a cache session between the network node and a user equipment during a handover of the user equipment from a source cell of a first RAT to a target cell of a second RAT being different from the first RAT is provided. The user equipment and the network node are comprised in a wireless communications system. The network node receives (704) an identifier. The identifier identifies a cache session in the network node. The cache session is associated with a play-out for a media stream to the user equipment via a source base station serving the user equipment in the source cell. The network node identifies (705) the cache session as pertaining to the user equipment subject to said handover, by means of the received identifier. The network node then continues (708) the identified cache session via a target base station serving the target cell, when the handover of the user equipment from the source cell to the target cell has been performed.

摘要: A method and apparatus for sending user plane traffic via a node located between a base station and a Serving Gateway in a mobile telecommunications network. The base station receives a message containing tunneling protocol information identifying the Serving Gateway. It sends a second message towards the node, the second message including tunneling protocol information identifying the base station and the Serving Gateway. The base station receives a third message from the node, the third message including tunneling protocol information for the base station to use towards the node, and tunneling protocol information for the Serving Gateway to use towards the node. A fourth message is sent, which includes tunneling protocol information for the Serving Gateway to use towards the node. User plane traffic can then be sent between the base station and the Serving Gateway via the node.

摘要: A method is provided which introduces user plane caching over an interface between a first node in a radio access network and a second node in a core network. At the first node: receiving first uplink tunnel parameters relating to the second node, selecting first downlink tunnel parameters relating to the first node, sending the first uplink and downlink tunnel parameters to a cache node designated to the first node, receiving second uplink and downlink tunnel parameters relating to the cache node, and sending the second downlink tunnel parameters to the second node. A first tunnel is established between the first node and the cache node based on the second uplink tunnel parameters and the first downlink tunnel parameters, uplink user plane data is sent to the second node through the first and second tunnels via the cache node, and downlink user plane data is received from the second node.
