    摘要: A process is provided for the preparation of aqueous silica sols having a particle size of 27 to 72 nm. by adding fresh acidic silica sol into the reactors of a multi stage cascade reactor wherein the reactors contain aqueous solution of colloidal silica sol of a pH of 8 or above. Each successive stage of the cascade reactor is supplied with overflow from the preceding stage. Alkaline compounds, such as alkaline sodium silicate solution, alkaline potassium silicate solution, sodium hydroxide solution or potassium hydroxide solution, are introduced into the first reactor or first reactors so that a pH value in the range of 8 to 12.5 is established in the reactors.

    摘要: The invention relates to special stable dispersions which crosslink at room temperature upon exposure to moisture in the atmosphere. The dispersions comprise polysiloxanes, vinyl-grafted polysiloxanes and condensation products, e.g. by weight approximately comprisingI. 20-90% of at least one diorganopolysiloxane optionally terminated by OH,II. 5-85% of at least one aliphatic or mixed aliphatic/aromatic polycondensation product or polyaddition product, polyether, or vinyl polymer with a glass temperature T.sub.G of up to 40.degree. C. and/or a vinyl monomer-grafted derivative thereof, andIII. 5-85% of at least one organopolysiloxane modified by grafting with at least one vinyl monomer and comprising(A) 10-90% of a diorganopolysiloxane optionally terminated by OH,(B) 10-90% of polymerized units of at least one vinyl compound, and(C) 0-80% of at least one aliphatic or mixed aliphatic/aromatic polycondensation product or polyaddition product, polyether, or vinyl polymer with a glass temperature T.sub.G of up to 40.degree. C.

    摘要: A coating composition to improve the abrasion and scratch resistance of plastics such as polycarbonate, consisting essentially of about(A) 10-40% by weight of a partially hydrolyzed siloxane compound which is obtained by hydrolyzing in water at about 50.degree.-80.degree. C. over a period of about 1-12 hours at least one of(a) a hydrocarbon-trialkoxysilane of the formula R'Si(OR").sub.3 whereinR' is an alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a phenyl or vinyl group, andR" is an alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms,(b) a co-condensation product of (a) and about 1 to 40% by weight of a phenyl- or vinyl-trialkoxysilane, the alkoxy group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms,(c) a co-condensation product of 1 mol of (a) and 0.05 to 1 mol of a tetraalkoxysilane, in which the alkoxy group contains 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and(d) a co-condensation product of 1 mol of (a) and 0.05 to 1 of a dialkyldialkoxysilane, in which the alkyl and alkoxy groups contain 1 to 4 carbon atoms.(B) 0 to 40% by weight of an aqueous dispersion of colloidal silicon dioxide,(C) 0 to 5% by weight of an etherified methylolmelamine,(D) 0.05 to 15% by weight of a blocked polyisocyanate,(E) 0.5 to 30% by weight of acetic acid, and(F) an inert organic solvent as the remainder.
