Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a casing for a battery pack and a battery pack. The casing includes a receiving space and an opening in communication with the receiving space, the receiving space is formed by a wall portion of the casing, and the wall portion is formed from two or more stacked base plates, between which a plurality of cavities are formed. By forming a plurality of cavities in the wall portion, the casing for a battery pack provided by the present disclosure not only can improve the bearing capacity and the impact resistance of the casing, but also can achieve a thermal management of the battery assembly by filling the plurality of cavities with a phase change material or cooling liquid, which can further improve the mechanical property of the casing with a relatively light weight and relatively high reliability.

Abstract: A battery pack for optimizing the structure of the battery pack includes a case, a battery module and a blocking member. The case includes an accommodating cavity and a drain hole in communication with the accommodating cavity. The battery module is contained inside the accommodating cavity. The blocking member is mounted to the case, wherein the blocking member is disposed on one side of the battery module in a width direction. At least a part of the blocking member is arranged between the battery module and the drain hole to block a binder for fixing the battery module from entering the drain hole. The reservoir cavity is provided, such that the liquid flow into a reservoir portion to prevent dangers such as short-circuit occurring in the battery module when liquid is accumulated inside the case.

Abstract: A battery assembly includes a protection member and a battery module including at least two batteries arranged side by side along a first direction and having a first outer surface and a second outer surface opposite to each other along a second direction. The protection member is in the form of a letter U with two vertical portions having different lengths, wherein a first protection section covers the end covers of batteries in the battery module, a part of a second protection section covers the first outer surface, and a third protection section abuts against an end cover of a battery corresponding to the second outer surface. The protection member can prevent the airflow, the flame and the like sprayed during thermal runaway, and control a thermal diffusion range during thermal runaway.

Abstract: Disclosed is a battery module including a battery cell array structure, an upper cap and a lower cap, the battery cell array structure is disposed between the upper cap and the lower cap. Each battery cell includes an electrode assembly and a battery case. The electrode assembly is of a wound structure and flat, outer surface of the electrode assembly includes two flat surfaces facing each other in a vertical direction; or the electrode assembly is of a laminated structure, the first electrode plate, the separator and the second electrode plate are laminated in the vertical direction. Being distinguished from the existing technology, the maximum swelling force of the battery module may be reduced, thus end plates with smaller volumes may be selected to improve energy density of the battery module.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a battery module and a battery pack. The battery module comprises a plurality of battery cells and a fireproof member, wherein each of the plurality of battery cells is provided with a vent, and the vent faces the fireproof member; wherein the fireproof member includes a fireproof member body and a first extension connected to an upper end of the fireproof member; and/or a second extension connected to a lower end of the fireproof member. When thermal runaway occurs to the battery cells, flames and high temperature particles ejected out of the vent are blocked by the fireproof member body and the first extension and/or the second extension, thus preventing the ejected flames and high temperature particles from burning neighboring battery cells, and preventing the battery cells that has undergone thermal runaway from inducing thermal runaway of the neighboring battery cells opposite to the vents.
