Abstract: Techniques for improved interactive devices are provided. Input is received from a user, where the input includes a first request. The input is evaluated using one or more natural language processing techniques to determine a context of the input, and a response to the input is generated based at least in part on the determined context. A first virtual character of a plurality of virtual characters is selected based at least in part on the determined context. The first virtual character is displayed on a rotating display, and the generated response is implemented while the first virtual character is being displayed.

Abstract: A playset comprises a near field communication extending system. The near field communication extending comprises a main antenna and a plurality of extending antennas. The main antenna is positioned at a first location of the playset and configured to wirelessly communicate to a near field communication device of a mobile device. The plurality of extending antennas is positioned at a plurality of different locations in an interior of the playset. Each of the plurality of extending antennas is connectable to the main antenna via a plurality of connection elements. The playset further comprises an antenna switching mechanism coupled to the plurality of extending antennas via a plurality of connection elements. The antenna switching mechanism is configured to switchably couple the main antenna with each of the plurality of extending antennas.

Abstract: According to one implementation, a system for supplementing entertainment content with ambient lighting includes a computing platform having a hardware processor and a memory storing a software code. The hardware processor is configured to execute the software code to receive an entertainment content, detect one or more attributes of the entertainment content that correspond to an artistic intent of a producer of the entertainment content, and interpret the artistic intent of the producer of the entertainment content using the detected one or more attributes. The hardware processor is further configured to execute the software code to compose an ambient lighting routine as a supplement to the entertainment content based on the interpreted artistic intent.

Abstract: Systems, methods and articles of manufacture for synchronized robot orientation are described herein. A magnetometer, gyroscope, and accelerometer in a remotely controlled device are used to determine a current orientation of that device, and a command with a specified orientation or location are set to several such devices. The remotely controlled devices self-align based on the specified orientation/location, and when in position, receive swarm commands to perform actions as a group of devices in coordination with one another.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enhancing the accuracy of spatial location and rotational orientation determination of a wearable head-mounted display device while in a motion simulating vehicle are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: generate output signals conveying vehicle information; generate output signals conveying user information of a user; obtain presentation information; determine, based on the user information and the vehicle information, spatial location and rotational orientation of the wearable head-mounted display device with respect to a reference frame such that accuracy of the determination is enhanced with respect to only using the user information; determine a view of the virtual space that corresponds to the spatial location and the rotational orientation of the wearable head-mounted display device determined; and effectuate, via the wearable head-mounted display device, presentation of the view of the virtual space.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the invention disclosed herein provide techniques for implementing augmented reality (AR) gameplay across multiple AR gaming environments. A synchronized AR gaming application executing on an AR gaming console detects that a first gaming console that is executing an AR gaming application has exited a first AR gaming environment and entered a second AR gaming environment. The synchronized AR gaming application connects to a communications network associated with the second AR gaming environment. The synchronized AR gaming application detects, via the communications network, a sensor associated with the second AR gaming environment. The synchronized AR gaming application alters execution of the AR gaming application based at least in part on sensor data received via the sensor to enable the AR gaming application to continue executing as the first gaming console exits the first AR gaming environment and enters the second AR gaming environment.

Abstract: An image management system includes a computing platform including a hardware processor and a system memory storing an image customization software code, and a database of personas assumable by a user, the database communicatively coupled to the image customization software code. The hardware processor executes the image customization software code to receive a wireless signal associating a persona stored in the database with the user, receive a digital image including an image of the user, and detect the image of the user in the digital image. The hardware processor further executes the image customization software code to obtain the persona from the database, and output a customized image to be rendered on a display, where the persona modifies the image of the user in the customized image.

Abstract: An entertainment system includes multiple figurines configured for wireless communication, and a control device having a hardware processor, a system memory storing a control application, and a transceiver. The hardware processor executes the control application to detect each of the figurines via the transceiver and to identify a predetermined entertainment for performance by two or more of the figurines. The hardware processor further executes the control application to transmit control signals to the two or more figurines via the transceiver, wherein a first control signal instructs a first of the two or more figurines to perform a first portion of the predetermined entertainment, and a second control signal instructs a second of the two or more figurines to perform a second portion of the predetermined entertainment. The two or more of the figurines are configured to perform the predetermined entertainment according to the control signals.

Abstract: Embodiments provide for distorted views in augmented reality by mapping undistorted distances from a camera to real objects in an environment; producing a distorted video feed of the environment that shows the real objects at apparent distances to the camera; anchoring a virtual object to a position in the environment based on the undistorted distances; determining a scaling factor between the camera and the position based on the undistorted distances and the apparent distances; scaling the virtual object based on the scaling factor; overlaying the virtual object as scaled into the distorted video feed; and outputting the distorted video feed to a display device.
