Abstract:
An inductive power system including an inductive power transmitter coupled to a non-conductive medium, and a power cord that electrically couples the transmitter to an AC power source. The inductive power transmitter is configured to emit an electromagnetic field based on the received AC power. There is an inductive power receiver coupled to the non-conductive medium and separated from the transmitter, wherein the receiver is configured to receive the electromagnetic field after it has passed through the non-conductive medium and in response develop power. A power cord electrically couples the developed power to a power sink.

Abstract:
Performance of a new system may be optimized to run a legacy application written for a legacy system. Performance information for the legacy application is recorded or derived while running the legacy application on the new system. Performance characteristics for the legacy application running on the new system are determined by analyzing the performance information. The performance characteristics include one or more key performance metrics and other performance information. The key performance metrics must be met when the legacy application is run on the new system. The other performance information is useful for adjusting one or more operating parameters of the new system when running the legacy application on the new system. The one or more operating parameters are adjusted so that the one or more key performance metrics are met.
Abstract:
Architecture that uses content from off-page data sources such as feeds (e.g., yellow pages, coupons, social networks, commerce, etc.) to present additional, relevant information in association with search results. The additional and relevant information is directly relevant to the implicit task the user is trying to accomplish. The architecture includes online and offline mechanisms that identify an entity represented on a web page and look-up information related to that entity in disparate data sources. Relevance heuristics are employed to determine which of the available entity data to show in the caption given the user query, the web page, and the underlying user task (other known information about the user such as geographic location).
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to isolated nucleic acid molecules and polypeptides of thraustochytrid polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) synthases involved in the production of PUFAs, including PUFAs enriched in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), or a combination thereof. The present invention is directed to vectors and host cells comprising the nucleic acid molecules, polypeptides encoded by the nucleic acid molecules, compositions comprising the nucleic acid molecules or polypeptides, and methods of making and uses thereof.
Abstract:
An adjustable height jib is disclosed for an arm of a hook-lift hoist for loading of equipment, containers or the like onto a truck for transport. The jib has an elongate body with a hook located on each of its opposing end portions. The jib is mounted on the arm for pivotal movement between a first position for loading containers of a first height and a second position for loading containers of a second height. A lock secures the jib in either position. A feature of the adjustable height jib is that, upon release of the lock, it will pivot between a longer position as the hook-lift hoist is operated toward the loading position and a shorter position as the hook lift hoist is operated toward the transport position.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to formation and use of electroprocessed collagen, including use as an extracellular matrix and, together with cells, its use in forming engineered tissue. The engineered tissue can include the synthetic manufacture of specific organs or tissues which may be implanted into a recipient. The electroprocessed collagen may also be combined with other molecules in order to deliver substances to the site of application or implantation of the electroprocessed collagen. The collagen or collagen/cell suspension is electrodeposited onto a substrate to form tissues and organs.
Abstract:
A computer-readable medium is configured to receive a report processing request at a hierarchical report processor. The hierarchical report processor includes a parent process and at least one child process executing on a single processing unit, and is configured to process the report processing request as a task on the single processing unit.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to multiparticulate formulations for oral use, preferably comprising one or more therapeutically active agents. In particular, the present invention relates to fast melt formulations which are capable of masking the taste of the active agent, by virtue of one or more tastemasking measures, whilst retaining the desired drug dissolution profile and good mouthfeel. The multiparticulate formulations of the invention can be used in a multiple dose delivery device which dispenses a unit dose of the powder upon actuation, or can be packaged for dispensation in sachets or like unit dose containers.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to Lactobacillus species recombinantly altered to express a biologically active protein. The invention also related to methods of providing the bacteria to the vagina.
