Abstract:
Thermoplastic molding compositions are provided which comprise a polycarbonate resin alone or in combination with a saturated polyester resin and/or a poly(etherester) elastomer, a poly(etherimide ester) elastomer or a mixture thereof; a polyphenylene ether resin and a saturated polyester resin; a polyphenylene ether resin, a saturated polyester resin and a polycarbonate resin; or mixtures thereof modified with multi-stage polyorganosiloxane/polyvinyl-based graft polymers which exhibit markedly improved impact strength and weld line strength with no tendency to delaminate or to show mottled surfaces after molding.
Abstract:
An emulsion where water is a continuous phase and having a discontinuous oil phase comprising:(a) silicone hydrides containing units of the formula:R.sub.a H.sub.b SiO.sub.(4-a-b)/2 where a may be 0, 1, or 2; b may be 1 or 2; a+b may be 1, 2, or 3; R is a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical of 1 to 12 carbon atoms; and(b) hydroxy substituted silicone containing units of the formula:R.sub.c (OH).sub.d SiO.sub.(4-c-d)/2 wherein c is 1, 2, or 3; d is 1 or 2; c+d may be 2, 3, or 4; and R is a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical of from 1 to 12 carbon atoms.
Abstract:
The present invention provides silicone-water emulsions formed from volatile cyclic polysiloxanes which are emulsified with a preblended mixture of water and a combination of emulsifying agents. Highly ethoxylated nonionic emulsifying agents are particularly well-suited for the formation of stable silicone-water emulsions from volatile cyclic polysiloxanes. These volatile silicone-water emulsions can be combined with epidermal enhancing agents for cosmetic and medicinal purposes.
Abstract:
A composition having the general formula ##STR1## wherein each R is independently selected from hydrogen, substituted and unsubstituted organic radicals, and radicals of the formula --R.sup.1 NR.sub.2 where R is as previously defined; R.sup.1 is a divalent organic radical; each R.sup.2 is independently selected from substituted and unsubstituted alkyl radicals having at least 12 carbon atoms; each R.sup.3 is an independently selected organic radical having from 1 to 13 carbon atoms; and a, b, and c are, independently, 0 or a positive integer.
Abstract:
Aminofunctional emulsions and aminofunctional silicone polishes are provided which exhibit improved adhesion and resistance to removal by detergent washing when applied to solid surfaces.
Abstract:
Organopolysiloxane lubricant compositions comprising a polysiloxane chain containing silicon-bonded hydrocarbon radicals and silicon-bonded ester radicals. The ester functional organopolysiloxanes are obtained by reacting an allyl ester, by Si-olefin addition, with an organohydrogenpolysiloxane in the presence of a platinum catalyst.
Abstract:
A method, composition and article of manufacture for an antifoam emulsion composition suitable for use in laundry detergents encapsulated by the reaction product of an alkylalkoxysilane and a silicone condensation cure catalyst.
Abstract:
A personal care composition is provided, comprising (A) an effective amount of a polyalkylsiloxane copolymer having a melting point of from about -40.degree. C. to about +40.degree. C., and being selected from various specific polyalkylsiloxane copolymer fluids of polyalkylsiloxane copolymer resins; and (B) a cosmetically acceptable carrier medium, wherein the polyalkylsiloxane copolymer contains mixtures of linear lower alkyl side chains and linear higher alkyl side chains or mixtures of linear alkyl side chains and branched alkyl side chains. The polyalkylsiloxane copolymers used in the composition are fluids or soft waxes at body temperature and have improved application and payout and better substantivity and hair conditioning properties.
Abstract:
Siloxane fluids containing novel siloxane polymers prepared from mixtures of disilanes, disiloxanes and silylmethylenes, and a method for recovering fully alkylated linear and cyclic siloxanes with disilane, disiloxane and silylmethylene bonds, such as from methylchlorosilane residue cleavage bottoms, are disclosed.
