摘要: A display article includes a film formed from a stretchable plastic and including a first plurality of micro-light emitting diodes and a second plurality of micro-light emitting diodes disposed adjacent to the first plurality and embedded in the plastic. The article includes a substrate having a first portion and a second portion, and a tear seam disposed between the first and second portions. The film is attached to the substrate such that the tear seam is located between the first and second pluralities. A component includes the display article and an airbag disposed adjacent the substrate and configured for transitioning between a stowed position in which the airbag does not extend through the substrate, and a deployed position in which the airbag extends through the substrate and the film. The first and second portions are separated at the tear seam when the airbag is disposed in the deployed position.

摘要: A head-up display system includes a housing, a liquid crystal display disposed within the housing and configured for emitting a first ray of light, and a reflector stack disposed adjacent the liquid crystal display within the housing. The reflector stack is configured for transmitting therethrough the first ray of light and includes a retardation plate and an optical film disposed on the retardation plate and facing the liquid crystal display. The head-up display system also includes a radiative heat sink disposed on the housing and a turn mirror spaced apart from the reflector stack. The turn mirror is configured for directing a first solar ray to the reflector stack such that the first solar ray reflects off the reflector stack to the radiative heat sink as a second solar ray.

摘要: A display assembly includes a display console displaying at least one image on an image plane. The image is divided into a plurality of pixels. A controller is operatively connected to the display console and includes a processor and tangible, non-transitory memory on which is recorded instructions for executing a method for dynamically adjusting the image in real-time for off-axis viewing. The controller is programmed to generate a compensation-over-viewing-angle map which includes respective compensation factors for each of the plurality of pixels for multiple viewing positions. In one embodiment, the controller is programmed to apply separate respective compensation factors for the instantaneous viewing positions of a first user at a time j and a second user at a time k. In another embodiment, the controller is programmed to apply first and second compensation factors simultaneously at a time m, for a first image and a second image, respectively.

摘要: A multifunctional self-cleaning surface layer and methods of preparing the multifunctional self-cleaning surface layer are provided. The multifunctional self-cleaning surface layer includes an inorganic matrix including silicon and oxygen; a plurality of photocatalytic active particles distributed within and bonded to the inorganic matrix; and a plurality of nanopores defined within the inorganic matrix in regions corresponding to bonds between the plurality of photocatalytic active particles and the inorganic matrix. Water molecules may be disposed within at least a portion of the plurality of nanopores. In the presence of water and electromagnetic radiation, the plurality of photocatalytic active particles may facilitate a decomposition reaction of any oil or organic residue on the multifunctional self-cleaning surface layer.

The sensor is arranged in a plane in which the red, green, and blue LEDs are arranged in each of the sets of LEDs. A cover including a dielectric material covers the sets of LEDs. The sensor is configured to sense at least one of ambient light and proximity of an object to the cover.

摘要: A system includes a display. The display includes an array of LEDs covered by a transparent material. The array of LEDs includes a plurality of first, second, third, and fourth LEDs respectively configured to emit red, green, blue, and violet light. The red, green, and blue light from the first, second, and third LEDs is visible to human eye. Violet light from the fourth LEDs is invisible to human eye. The system includes a photocatalytic coating disposed on the transparent material. The photocatalytic coating includes a photo-catalyst responsive to ultraviolet radiation present in sunlight and to the violet light emitted by the fourth LEDs in the array of LEDs. The system includes a controller configured to selectively turn on the fourth LEDs to activate the photo-catalyst in the photocatalytic coating disposed on the transparent material.

摘要: A self-cleaning film system includes a substrate and a film. The film includes a monolayer formed from a fluorinated material, and a first plurality of regions disposed within the monolayer and spaced apart from one another such that each of the regions abuts, is surrounded by, and is not covered by the fluorinated material. Each of the regions includes a photocatalytic material. The system may include a wave guide disposed adjacent the substrate. The wave guide includes a first light source configured for emitting a first portion of electromagnetic radiation towards the film having an ultraviolet wavelength of from 10 nm to 400 nm, and a second light source configured for emitting a second portion of electromagnetic radiation towards the film having an infrared wavelength of from 700 nm to 1 mm. A method of forming a self-cleaning film system configured for reducing a visibility of a contaminant is disclosed.
