Abstract:
Disclosed is a method to operate a wireless device, comprising a communication unit, in a wireless cellular network comprising at least two radio access networks, the communication unit being configured to communicate to a network node of the wireless cellular network, the network node being associated to a first radio access network. The method comprises the steps for the communication unit of: detecting if a second radio access network of said wireless cellular network fulfills a predefined set of access parameters, wherein the second radio access network supports a different access technology than the first radio access network. If the second radio access network fulfills said set of access parameters: sending a connection release indication to the network node, receiving from the network node a connection release confirmation message, sending a connection request message to the wireless cellular network with selection of said second radio access network.
Abstract:
A wireless terminal for operating in a cellular network includes a transceiver, at least one processor and a memory. The transceiver is configured to receive system information respectively transmitted by base stations comprising area system information transmitted by one of the base stations. The area system information is common for a local area covered by said base station and at least one other base station. The processor is configured to store received area system information in the memory. The processor is configured to process a later transmitted area system information only in case of detection of: an area identifier transmitted with the system information indicating a change of area, or a system value change field transmitted with the system information indicating a change of values of area system information values, or an overrun field transmitted with the system information indicating an overrun of the system value change field.
Abstract:
A method for a wireless terminal communicating with a base station of a cellular network, the terminal operating in enhanced coverage mode and configured to set up a communication session with the base station by means of at least one of a direct communication link and a sidelink communication link using a second wireless terminal. The method comprises: determining a quality of the direct communication link with the base station, determining a quality of a communication link to a second wireless terminal capable of communicating with the base station, initiating transmission of a link quality message to the base station, the link quality message comprising information relating to the quality of the communication link, receiving a response from the base station indicating if the direct communication link or the sidelink communication link is to be used, requesting a communication session via the indicated communication link.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for data transmission from a wireless device to a base node, the base node is part of a cellular network and is configured to support frequency division multiple access method, the bandwidth receivable by the base node comprising a plurality of subcarriers, the wireless device is camping on the base node, the method comprises the steps of: —for the base node, assigning to the wireless device a subcarrier of the plurality of subcarriers, —transmitting data from the wireless device to the base node for the period of at least one data service session using only the assigned subcarrier, whereby using for said data transmission a first modulation scheme on the assigned subcarrier different from the modulation scheme used for more than one of the plurality of the subcarriers by at least one second wireless device camping on said base node.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for transmission of a data packet in a cellular network between a transmitting node and a receiving node, the receiving node being configured to receive data packets from the transmitting node, the transmitting node supporting at least one frequency band composed of a plurality of carriers, the method comprising for the transmitting node the step of transmitting to the receiving node a plurality of data transmissions of the data packet according to a predetermined redundancy level, whereby the first of the plurality of data transmissions is transmitted in a resource area addressed by a scheduling occurrence, and the rest of the plurality of data transmissions are transmitted in the same resource area as the first data transmission, and each data transmission is transmitted on a different carrier.
Abstract:
A method for operating a wireless communication device in a cellular network comprising a plurality of base nodes, the wireless communication device is operating in enhanced coverage mode with a first base node of the plurality of base nodes. The method comprises: —measuring signaling from at least one second base node, —determining an indication relating to the camping priority of said second base node, —in case the second base node has a higher camping priority than the first base node, but the second base node does not support enhanced coverage mode and said measured signaling indicates insufficient suitability of the second base node to serve the wireless communication device in normal coverage mode: —suspending measurement of signaling of the second base node, —measuring signaling from at least a third base node providing the same camping priority as the first base node.
Abstract:
