摘要： Absorbent articles having leg extensions are disclosed. The absorbent articles may include, for instance, an outer cover, a liner, and an absorbent structure positioned in between the liner and the outer cover. The absorbent structure includes a crotch area and leg extensions that extend downwardly from the crotch area and are configured to lay adjacent the thighs of a user. The leg extensions assist in wicking liquids away from the crotch area when the absorbent article is insulted with a liquid. In one embodiment, the leg extensions comprise at least 30% by weight of the absorbent structure or, alternatively comprise at least 30% of the total surface area of the absorbent structure.

摘要： A compression belt cartridge for use with chest compression devices. The compression belt cartridge has a double-oar shaped belt and a cover plate through which the belt is threaded. The cover plate is provided with hooks and snap latches that fit into a belt drive platform. The cover plate is sized and dimensioned to fit within only selected platforms. The belt attaches to the means for tightening the belt via a spline attached to the belt. The means for tightening a belt then repetitively tightens the belt, thereby accomplishing chest compressions.

摘要： The present invention relates to a system and a method for sensing for the rupture of an implant (such as a breast implant) that has been implanted in body tissues or in an organ of a patient. In one embodiment, a system according to the present invention includes, among other possible things, a sensor coupled to an outer surface of the implant and configured to measure a property at the outer surface of the implant, for example, electrical conduction, chemical composition, or an optical property that is indicative of whether an implant rupture has occurred. The sensor is also configured to transmit a wireless signal to a device external to the body, which alerts the patient or a healthcare provider whether the measured property indicates that the implant rupture may have occurred.

The laminate includes a latent polymer, which itself may or may not possess latent elasticity, that is applied to at least one elastic member while the elastic member is in a stretched configuration. The elastic member, at least partially covered with the latent polymer, is attached to at least one substrate. The amount of latent polymer applied to the elastic member may provide enough force to overcome a retractive force of the elastic member when the latent polymer is at a temperature below a softening point of the latent polymer, yet the amount of latent polymer may be small enough to allow the laminate to retract into an elastic, gathered structure when the laminate is heated to a softening point of the latent polymer. The laminate may be incorporated into a variety of articles including personal care garments and cleaning cloths.

摘要： The present invention relates to a fastening system that includes an auto-adhesive layer and a cover layer. The cover layer engages the auto-adhesive layer such that the auto-adhesive layer is exposed as the cover layer is stretched. In some embodiments, stretching the cover layer causes the cover layer to rupture (i.e., tear) so that the auto-adhesive layer may be exposed for subsequent bonding. The term “auto-adhesive” refers to self-adhesive properties of a polymeric material where an auto-adhesive is substantially non-adhesive with respect to many other materials. The present invention also relates to a method of joining a fastening system to an item. The method includes positioning the fastening system near the item. The method further includes exposing an auto-adhesive layer by stretching a cover layer that is engaged with the auto-adhesive layer and then engaging the auto-adhesive layer on the fastening system with an auto-adhesive layer on the item.
