摘要： A method of controlling a drive unit of a pile-lifting device located at a sheet-fed printing machine includes starting-up the drive unit with a first mode of operation selected by an electronic current wherein rated torque is high and rated speed is low for respectively lifting and lowering the pile and, after a given period of time, following the starting-up of the drive unit, switching to a second mode of operation of the drive unit wherein the rated torque is low and the rated speed is high if the speed has exceeded a preset value during a lifting of the pile, and has not exceeded a preset value during a lowering of the pile; and a device for performing the method.

摘要： A method for treating produced gypsum and, in particular, a method for treating flue-gas desulfurization gypsum forms highly active, modifiable gypsum binders of high strength with simultaneously drying, deagglomerating and dehydrating. Pursuant to the invention, produced gypsum (flue-gas desulfurization gypsum), with a particle size ranging up to 200 .mu.m, to which 10% by weight of milled natural gypsum is optionally added, is dehydrated at a material temperature of 335.degree. to 363.degree. K. and at a pressure ranging from 2.5 to 8 kpa, the dehydration being concluded when anhydrite III constitutes 50% to 100% by weight.

摘要： An apparatus for winding a flexible web continuously moving in a longitudinal travel direction as rolls onto sleeves has a winding station for holding a sleeve and rotating it about an axis for winding the web onto the sleeve. Upstream of the winding station at a changeover station a fresh sleeve is held adjacent the continuously moving web. A shell juxtaposed with the fresh sleeve in the changeover station forms therewith a gap. A cross-cutter for the web is provided adjacent an end of the gap and can form on the web a trailing end and a leading end so that the trailing end travels to the winding station for winding on the sleeve therein. Air is drawn air into the end of the gap to aspirate the leading end into the gap. This leading end is electrostatically adhered to the fresh sleeve in the changeover station.

摘要： A methodology is provided for making UV-curable, wear resistant and antistatic coating filled with carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The composition consists of a mixture of CNTs, an acrylate-based monomer, a urethane-acrylate oligomer and a photoinitiator. The present invention provides a coating of which the wear resistance and antistatic properties are dramatically improved in comparison with the polymer substrate. This coating is suitable for protecting a variety of polymer substrates from scratch and electrostatic accumulation.

摘要： An escalator drive assembly (30) includes a sensor that facilitates detecting when the normal drive assembly operation is interrupted, such that a brake should be activated. In one example, a sensor member (40) in the form of a flange (42) is associated with a drive pulley (34) and normally rotates in unison with the drive pulley. When there is a failure in the normal operation of the drive mechanism, however, there is a resulting relative movement between the sensor member (40) and the drive pulley (34). Such relative motion preferably activates a switch (80) that provides a signal that indicates a failure of the normal operation of the drive mechanism (30). Another example sensor includes a sensor member (202, 212) that engages a drive belt (35). If the belt (35) breaks, the sensor member (202, 212) moves to provide an indication of the broken belt condition. Various braking application modes are possible using the invention.
