Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, a method of recognizing a biological target includes performing radar measurements for a plurality of sites on the biological target using a millimeter-wave radar sensor, producing a target data set for the plurality of sites based on the radar measurements, extracting features from the target data set, comparing the extracted features to stored features, and determining whether the extracted features match the stored features based on the comparing.

Abstract: A treadmill includes a belt, a display, a first sensor having first transmission circuitry for transmitting a first radar beam over the belt and first reception circuitry for detecting a first reflected signal that is a reflection of the first radar beam from a user on the belt, a processor connected to the first sensor, the belt and the display, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program to be executed by the processor. The program includes instructions for determining, according to the first reflected signal, first data associated with a vital sign of the user and displaying, according to the first data, the vital sign on the display.

Abstract: A radar system includes a substrate, a first received antenna, a second receive antenna, and radio frequency (RF) circuitry. The substrate includes a first side and a second side. The first side is opposite the second side. The first receive antenna is disposed at the first side and is configured to receive a first reflected RF signal. The second receive antenna is configured to receive a second reflected RF signal. The RF circuitry is operatively coupled to the first receive antenna and the second receive antenna. The RF circuitry is configured to detect a first object located on the first side of the substrate according to the first reflected RF signal. The RF circuitry is further configured to detect biometric data from a second object located on the second side of the substrate according to the second reflected RF signal.

The packaged RF circuit also includes a receive antenna system disposed on the package substrate adjacent to the first edge of the RFIC and a first transmit antenna disposed on the package substrate adjacent to the second edge of the RFIC and electrically coupled to the first transmit port of the RFIC. The receive antenna system includes a plurality of receive antenna elements that are each electrically coupled to a corresponding receive port.

Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) system includes a flexible substrate that includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion overlaps a first surface of a substrate. The first surface is on a first side of the RF system. The second portion overlaps a second surface of the substrate. The second surface is on a second side of the RF system. The RF system further includes an antenna disposed over the first portion of the flexible substrate. The antenna is configured to transmit/receive RF signals on the first side of the RF system. The RF system also includes a transmission line disposed on a bent region of the flexible substrate between the first portion and the second portion. The transmission line is configured to propagate the RF signals between the first portion and the second portion on the second side of the RF system.

Abstract: An embodiment system may include a first millimeter-wave radar sensor coupled to a driver-side door of a vehicle, and a second millimeter-wave radar sensor coupled to a side-view mirror of the vehicle adjacent to the driver-side door. The first millimeter-wave radar sensor may be configured to produce a first set of radar data indicative of a presence of an object within a first field of view, and the second millimeter-wave radar sensor may be configured to produce a second set of radar data indicative of a presence of the object within a second field of view. The system may further include a processing circuit coupled to the first millimeter-wave radar sensor and the second millimeter-wave radar sensor, and a controller coupled to the processing circuit, the controller being configured to control an operation of the vehicle based on a control signal provided to the controller by the processing circuit.
