摘要: A vehicle steering apparatus includes a jacket for rotatably supporting a steering shaft, and an electric motor. The electric motor includes an annular rotor arranged coaxially with the steering shaft and rotating together with the steering shaft. The jacket includes a tubular upper jacket and a tubular lower jacket that are fitted into each other and are moved axially relative to each other in the collision of a vehicle. An annular space surrounding the steering shaft is provided radially inside the rotor. A part of the upper jacket enters the annular space in the collision of the vehicle.

摘要: Wavefront aberration of a projection optical system is measured and information on the wavefront aberration is obtained (step 102). Furthermore, a pattern of a reticle is transferred onto a wafer via a projection optical system (steps 104 to 108). Then, the waver on which the pattern is transferred is developed, and line width measurement is performed on the resist image formed on the wafer and line width difference of images of a first line pattern extending in a predetermined direction and a second line pattern that is orthogonal to the first line pattern is measured (steps 112 to 118). And, according to a value of the 12th term of the Zernike polynomial, which is an expansion of the wavefront aberration, and the line width difference, the projection optical system is adjusted so that magnitude of the 9th term (a low order spherical aberration term) is controlled (steps 120 to 124).

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for producing potassium fluorotantalate crystals, comprising heating, to 60° C. or higher, a starting solution prepared by adding hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid, and, if necessary, water to a highly pure tantalum solution, adding potassium chloride to this starting solution, and cooling the mixture to 40° C. or lower at a cooling rate of less than 15° C./h to precipitate potassium fluorotantalate crystals, wherein the concentration of the hydrofluoric acid in the starting solution is not more than 20% by weight. By this method, highly pure, large-sized potassium fluorotantalate crystals can successfully be obtained in high yield. Moreover, disadvantages to equipment and operation in the prior art can be overcome to a significant extent with this method.

摘要: There is provided a compact and lightweight steam generator capable of efficiently and economically generating steam. An impeller is disposed in a housing. While the impeller is rotated by hot water poured inside the housing through a hot water inlet, the hot water is spread to generate steam inside the housing. By a ventilation fan to be operated in association with the impeller, the steam generated inside the housing is blown off into a shower room. The hot water poured inside the housing is discharged to the inside of a hot water reservoir through a discharge port. Steam generated inside the hot water reservoir, is drawn into the inside of the housing and then blown off into the shower room.

摘要: A superplastic aluminum-based alloy material consisting of a matrix formed of aluminum or a supersaturated aluminum solid solution, whose average crystal grain size is 0.005 to 1 .mu.m, and particles made of a stable or metastable phase of various intermetallic compounds formed of the main alloying element (i.e., the matrix element) and the other alloying elements and/or of various intermetallic compounds formed of the other alloying elements and distributed evenly in the matrix, the particles having a mean particle size of 0.001 to 0.1 .mu.m. The superplastic aluminum-based alloy material is produced from a rapidly solidified material consisting of an amorphous phase, a microcrystalline phase or a mixed phase thereof by optionally heat treating the material at a prescribed temperature for a prescribed period of time and then subjecting it to a single or combined thermomechanical treatment. The superplastic aluminum-based alloy material of the present invention is suited for superplastic working.

摘要: A thermoelectric conversion element is configured to have two types of conductors with different Seebeck coefficients physically connected alternately with an electrode via one or more electrical resistance layers formed by electrical resistor having electrical resistance rate of 1×10−3 Ωcm or more. This arrangement enables charges to be generated by the difference of temperature in both ends of the element and to be densely stored in the electrical resistance layers formed by electrical resistor. Moreover, it is thought that thermal energy equivalent to the difference of temperature is input into the electrical resistance layers and that electromotive force increases as a result of an increase of output voltage.

摘要: There is provided a steering apparatus to ease an uncomfortable feeling given to an operator when a steering wheel is connected to a steering mechanism, on a fail. The apparatus includes a unit that varies an angular ratio of a steering angle of front wheels with respect to an operational angle of a steering wheel. The apparatus also includes a connection unit such as a electromagnetic clutch for connecting the steering wheel to the steering mechanism in order to fix the angular ratio, on a fail such as a failure of a steering motor. The apparatus also includes a rotational body which relatively rotates with respect to the steering wheel by an angular deviation upon this connection. Accordingly, since a real neutral position of the steering mechanism coincides with a neutral position recognized by a pattern on the rotational body being seen, it eases the uncomfortable feeling onto the operator.

摘要: A control section (10) of a vehicle steering system has a steer-by-wire mode, a power steering mode, and a transition mode. In the steer-by-wire mode, a steering actuator (19) is controlled for steering and a reaction force actuator (11) is controlled for reaction force. In the power steering mode, steering assistance control is performed with either of the steering actuator (19) and the reaction force actuator (11) caused to function as an assistance unit. In the transition mode, in a transition period from either of the steer-by-wire mode and the power steering mode to the other, the reaction force actuator (11) is controlled for reaction force.
