Abstract:
A measuring apparatus is used for measuring a remaining coulomb of a rechargeable electrical energy storage device. The measuring apparatus includes a storing module, a measuring module, and a processing module. The storing module is used for storing data on relations between voltage and charge of the rechargeable electrical energy storage device. The measuring module is used for measuring an initial voltage of the rechargeable electrical energy storage device, and obtaining an initial charged coulomb based on the data. The processing module is used for calculating a charged coulomb and a discharged coulomb, and calculating the remaining coulomb based on the charged coulomb or the discharged coulomb and the initial charged coulomb and updating the data with the remaining coulomb. A measuring method and an electronic device including a measuring apparatus for measuring a remaining coulomb are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A system and method for controlling a synchronous test in a testing device include inserting a synchronous command into a test program of the testing device, and defines a first synchronous data and a second synchronous data for the testing device. When the synchronous command is executed by the test program, the method sends a pause command to suspend the test program and to send the first synchronous data into the shared file of a host device. The testing device monitors whether the second synchronous data exists in the shared file, when sending the first synchronous data to the host device. If the second synchronous data is monitored in the shared file, the method informs a processor of the testing device to execute the test program continually.
Abstract:
An electronic device comprises a slide detector on a rim of the electronic device to detect a slide gesture. The electronic device determines a rotation command for the slide gesture. If the gesture is clockwise, the corresponding rotation is clockwise and vice versa. Each rotation is 90 degrees to interchange the electronic device between a landscape view and a portrait view.
Abstract:
The present application relates to the use of SNPs and differential exon expression to characterize, diagnose or treat bipolar disorder and other mental illnesses, such as major depressive disorder and schizophrenia.
Abstract:
A portable electronic device includes a housing, a resisting member and a keypad. The housing has a receiving recess running through two sides of the housing. The resisting member is formed on the bottom of the receiving recess. The keypad has a plurality of receiving cavities formed at the bottom surface. The keypad is hold by engagement of a receiving cavity with the resisting member and can slid by pushing of the keypad until another receiving cavity receives the resisting member.
Abstract:
An alarm system and method for an electronic device that includes an alarm unit and a setting unit. The alarm system provides alarm management for the electronic device to prevent users from oversleeping. The setting unit is operable to set an alarm mode and an alarm time of the electronic device. The alarm mode includes a normal mode and a non-normal mode. If the electronic device is in the non-normal mode, the alarm unit is activated to ring for a default period at the alarm time and a stop option is disabled, where the stop option is operable to stop the alarm unit from ringing.
Abstract:
An input system and method for enhancing an input interface of an electronic device includes a stylus with a signal transmitting module that sends an interrupt signal to an interrupt module of the electronic device when triggered. The interrupt module identifies the interrupt signal and relays the interrupt signal accordingly in order to perform operations of the electronic device.
Abstract:
Methods of applying Lotus Effect materials as a (superhydrophobicity) protective coating for external electrical insulation system applications, as well as the method of fabricating/preparing Lotus Effect coatings are discussed. Selected inorganic or polymeric materials are applied on the insulating material surface, and stable superhydrophobic coatings can be fabricated. Various UV stabilizers and UV absorbers can be incorporated into the coating system to enhance the coating's UV stability. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also discussed and claimed.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus includes a PCB with a heat generating electronic component disposed thereon, a heat sink, and a mounting device for mounting the heat sink onto the heat generating electronic component. The mounting device includes a mounting frame and a wire clip. The mounting frame surrounds the heat sink, and includes two first mounting arms and two second mounting arms disposed above the first mounting arms. The first mounting arms abut on the PCB. A pair of engaging wings are formed on the second mounting arms. The wire clip includes a pivot axis pivotably attached to the mounting frame and two resilient arms at opposite sides of the mounting frame. The resilient arms abut against the heat sink and engage with the engaging wings, thereby exerting a resilient force on the heat sink toward the heat generating electronic component.
Abstract:
A power factor correction apparatus is for correcting a power factor of transmission lines. The power factor correction apparatus includes a switch, a compensator, a detecting apparatus, a voltage processing circuit, a voltage comparison unit, and a time-delay unit. The switch is electrically connected to the transmission lines. The compensator is electrically connected to the switch for compensating the power factor. The detecting apparatus is electrically connected to the transmission lines for detecting voltages transmitted in the transmission lines. The voltage processing circuit electrically is connected to the detecting apparatus and the switch. The voltage processing circuit includes a voltage comparison unit and a time-delay unit. The voltage comparison unit is electrically connected to the detecting apparatus for comparing the voltages with each other to generate a voltage. The time-delay unit is electrically connected to the voltage comparison unit and the switch delaying the voltage.
