摘要: Provided are an apparatus and method for enhancing an image using a color channel. A pre-processing unit generates an inverted image by inverting a luminance component estimated from a red (R) channel among color channels of a red, green, and blue (RGB) color space of an input image. A channel merging unit generates a merged luminance (L) channel by merging an L channel of an International Commission on Illumination (CIE) L*a*b* (CIELab) color space of the input image and the inverted image. A contrast enhancement unit enhances contrast by expanding a histogram of the merged L channel. A color restoration unit combines the merged L channel whose contrast has been enhanced and chromaticity components of the input image, and converts a resultant color image to the RGB color space, thereby generating a restored image.

摘要: A cellular communications system may include at least one base station and at least one mobile cellular communications device. More particularly, the at least one mobile cellular communications device may include a controller, at least one user input device connected to the controller, and a wireless transceiver cooperating with the controller for attempting to establish a wireless communications link with at least one base station, and if the wireless communications link cannot be established, then continuing to attempt to establish the wireless communications link at a first attempt rate. Moreover, if a user provides a request to access the at least one base station via the at least one user input device, then the controller may continue to attempt to establish the wireless communications link based upon a second attempt rate greater than the first attempt rate.

摘要: A decision feedback equalizer is operated by making first symbol decisions from an output of the decision feedback equalizer such that the first symbol decisions are characterized by a relatively long processing delay, by making second symbol decisions from the output of the decision feedback equalizer such that the second symbol decisions are characterized by a relatively short processing delay, and by determining tap weights for the decision feedback equalizer based on the first and second symbol decisions. The first symbol decisions may be derived from the output of a long traceback trellis decoder. The second symbol decisions may be derived either from the output of a short traceback trellis decoder or from shorter delay outputs of the long traceback trellis decoder.

摘要: A thermogelling, aliphatically modified polymer for use in drug delivery is described. Illustrative embodiments include poly(lactic-co-ε-caprolactone)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactic-co-ε-caprolactone) hexanoate and poly(lactic-co-ε-caprolactone)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactic-co-ε-caprolactone) laurate. Another illustrative embodiment includes a composition having a thermogelling amount of an aliphatically modified poly(lactic-co-ε-caprolactone)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactic-co-ε-caprolactone) and an effective amount of a drug. The thermogelling polymers are made by bonding an aliphatic group to poly(lactic-co-ε-caprolactone)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactic-co-ε-caprolactone). A method of use includes injecting a warm-blooded individual with a thermogelling amount of the aliphatically modified polymer and a drug.
