摘要: The invention relates to a scaffold material comprising a plurality of particles of a highly porous polymeric material, characterized in that said scaffold material becomes a shapeable paste once hydrated. The specific features of the particle material impart a special behavior to the scaffold, which can be easily shaped and even highly reversibly compressed, so that in certain aspects it can, if needed, be injected, said capacity to be shaped being maintained over a high range of hydration conditions. A particular aspect of the invention relates, therefore, to the use of such scaffold material for the manufacturing of shapeable body implants, such as breast implants, to the shapeable body implants themselves as well as to non-invasive methods for using thereof in creating or reconstructing a three-dimensional volume in a subject's body part.

摘要: One aspect of the invention provides a system for dispensing and printing cells and particles. The system includes: (a) a flow confinement device; (b) a controller configured to generate a confined liquid volume outside the flow confinement device, wherein the confined liquid volume or materials contained in the confined liquid volume can be released to the environment by confined, modulated, and non-confined flow modes in arbitrary sequence and for arbitrary periods of time by said controller; (c) one or more liquids containing cells or cell constituents supplied into the confined liquid volume through the flow confinement device; (d) a substrate; and (e) a system configured to position the flow confinement device in 3D space and, therefore, the confined liquid volume to be positioned relative to the substrate, such that the confined liquid volume and contents, can interact with the substrate.

摘要: A collagen hydrogel which has a 3D fibrillar structure with micropores obtainable by a process including: providing an acidic mass of native Type I collagen fibers dispersed in water in a concentration comprised between 1-15% in weight; b) neutralizing the acidic mass to adjust the pH to physiological pH; and c) applying beta radiation in a range of up to 50 KGy; wherein the acidic mass has a pH between 0.5-5; and fibers, wherein the acidic mass includes fibers, wherein at least 90% of the total mass of the fibers have a length in of 1 μm to 2500 μm and a fiber diameter of from 0.1 to 150 μm measured at a pH between 1 and 2. A process for its preparation as well as its use as support for cell tissue or as scaffold of cultured meat, as well as the hydrogel for use in biomedical applications.

摘要: Provided is yarn for a cell culture scaffold. The yarn for a cell culture scaffold according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes slitting yarn produced by cutting a compressed nanofiber web to a predetermined width. Accordingly, by creating microenvironments suitable for migration, proliferation and differentiation of cells, cell viability may be enhanced and cells may be three-dimensionally proliferated. In addition, a scaffold according to the present invention has a mechanical strength sufficient for prevention of disruption of the scaffold which occurs during cell culture, such that cells may be stably proliferated. Further, the scaffold according to the present invention uses slitting yarn formed of the compressed nanofiber web, thereby having pores with various sizes, and therefore cell proliferation and cell viability may be enhanced by creation of an extracellular matrix-like environment.

摘要: A device for implantation into a mammalian host has a dialysis tube with a lumen and a dialysis membrane enclosing the lumen. The dialysis tube has an outer diameter of 20 μm to 600 μm. The dialysis membrane has a molecular weight cutoff of from 25 kDa to 150 kDa and has a material composition of at least one of the following: polyethersulfone, polyarylethersulfone, polyethylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, polyvinylidene fluoride, and polypropylene. A therapeutic composition is disposed within the lumen and has cells that secrete a therapeutic compound. A matrix material embeds the cells. The matrix material is one or more of alginate, collagen, fibrin, extracellular matrix material, synthetic hydrogel, and acrylate. Also disclosed are a method of producing a device for implantation, a port system, and a cell secreting a therapeutic compound for use in treating disease by implantation of the cells in a device for implantation.
