    摘要: A magnetoresistive device having a high giant magnetoresistance (GMR) value and a moderate low resistance area product (RA) includes a first magnetic layer, a second magnetic layer, and a current confined path (CCP) spacer layer positioned between the first magnetic layer and the second magnetic layer. The spacer layer includes copper current confined paths extending between the first magnetic layer and the second magnetic layer in a matrix of magnesium oxide. The spacer layer is formed by a mixture copper and magnesium oxide, which is heattreated to form the copper current confined paths within the magnesium oxide matrix.

    摘要: MEMs devices are integrally fabricated with included micro or nanoparticles by providing a mixture of a sacrificial material and a multiplicity of particles, disposing the mixture onto a substrate, fabricating a MEMs structure on the substrate including at least part of the mixture, so that at least some of the mixture is enclosed in the MEMs structure, removing the sacrificial material, and leaving at least some of the multiplicity of particles substantially free and enclosed in the MEMs structure. The step of fabricating a MEMs structure is quite general and is contemplated as including one or a multiplicity of additional steps for creating some type of structure in which the particles, which may be microbeads or nanobeads, are included. A wide variety of useful applications for MEMs integrated with micro or nanoparticles are available.

    摘要: A T-shaped pole tip portion of an upper pole of a write element for a magnetic disk drive is provided. One end of the pole tip portion, constituting the bottom of the “T,” forms a narrow nose segment at an air bearing surface, while a wing segment at the opposite end of the pole tip portion constitutes the cross-bar top of the “T.” A transition segment extends between the nose segment and the wing segment. A yoke portion of the upper pole includes a surface that is parallel to the air bearing surface and recessed therefrom by a P3R depth. The transition segment does not widen significantly until after the P3R depth, accordingly, the wing segment is recessed from the air bearing surface by more than the P3R depth.
