The analysis and monitoring are simplified and tools and protocol-handling can be separated. In addition, time functions in the system(s) can be made unambiguous.

The mobility of the system is obtained by the selection of the components in question. The mobility gives an instantaneous yield and instantaneous return to the previously exerted braking/tensioning effect of a knot on the passing yarn and/or an instantaneous response to one or more controls for modifying the braking or tensioning force of the system during one and the same drawing-off of yarn (machine cycle).

In another approach, modules using the second protocol can be configured to send message during transmission of first protocol messages by other modules, the second protocol messages being triggered off of expected aspects of the message sent under the first protocol.

The receiving nodes are located at a distance from each other and are connected to a few-wire digital link in a wired system for forwarding of the said data and/or control commands to the executing devices. The control node transmits the said data and/or the control commands in different directions towards the receiving nodes which are arranged at a distance from each other. Receiving nodes with reception that is essentially not subject to interference are arranged to be able to connect to the few-wire link in parallel and simultaneously with a receiver unit or units which have links that are connected to the few-wire link. In another case, only those receiver unit or units are connected that have reception links that are not subject to interference, while the receiver unit of units with links that are subject to interference do not participate in the transmission of the message on the few-wire link.

The module is configured to send a message according to the actual time, wherein the module starts transmission of the message according to the actual time. By sending the module at the actual time, the message begins within an adjacent time slot on the communication bus.
