    Abstract: Techniques are discussed herein for supporting periodic or triggered location of a user equipment (UE) using Early Data Transmission (EDT). A location server (LS), such as a 5G LMF, sends a request to a UE for periodic or triggered location and includes a request and/or criteria for using EDT. After confirming the request, the UE monitors for periodic or triggering events and, for each detected event, sends an event report to the LS which may include location information. In embodiments, the UE establishes a signaling connection with a RAN node but not with a core network to send the event report using EDT. The RAN node may then release the signaling connection, either immediately or after the LS returns a single response to the UE.

    Abstract: A core network receives data from at least one of an AF, a DN, or a UE. A UPF having small data capability processes the data for transport with a low overhead and without initiating a bearer set up protocol. The data may be transported between the UE and the UPF as an RRC payload over a NAS protocol. The data may be received from an AF or DN external to the core network and may be processed to transport the data to the UE based as an RRC payload. The data may be received as uplink data from a UE, e.g., in an RRC payload. The UPF may process the RRC payload to obtain the data and may transport the data to the AF or DN. The UPF may perform IP header compression, data encryption, and/or buffering of data for a UE in an idle mode.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for supporting an interface between a system that implements sensitive networking (TSN) and a wireless communications system. In one aspect, a network entity, which may be configured to communicate over the wireless communications system, may interface with one or more TSN bridges of the TSN system. The network entity may share timing information with a centralized network configuration (CNC) entity of the TSN system and may perform a time domain mapping between a first clock used by the CNC entity and a second clock used by the network entity. For example, the network entity may map absolute times using a clock drift between the first clock and the second clock and may convert time durations using a cumulative rate ratio between the first clock and the second clock.

    Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating time synchronization functionality at user equipment are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a first device includes transmitting, to a second device, capability information indicating that the first device is capable of operating as a PTP grand master clock. The example method also includes receiving, from the second device, one or more PTP parameters based on the capability information indicating that the first device is capable of operating as a PTP grand master clock. Additionally, the example method includes generating, based on the one or more PTP parameters received from the second device, a first PTP message including time information. Further, the example method includes transmitting the first PTP message including the time information to one or more downstream devices in communication with the first device.
