    Abstract: A secondary battery production method is provided, with which deformation of a current collector is reduced. The method produces a secondary battery including: an electrode assembly having positive and negative electrode plates; and a positive electrode current collector. The positive electrode plate includes a positive electrode core and a positive electrode active material layer, and the electrode assembly includes a positive electrode core-stacked portion. The method includes: an electrode assembly production step of producing the electrode assembly; and an ultrasonic bonding step of ultrasonically bonding the positive electrode current collector to the positive electrode core-stacked portion. The positive electrode current collector has a thin-walled portion. In the ultrasonic bonding step, the thin-walled portion and the positive electrode core-stacked portion are sandwiched between a horn and an anvil, and the thin-walled portion and the positive electrode core-stacked portion are ultrasonically bonded together.

    Abstract: A negative electrode includes a first region formed of a first material and a second region formed of a second material having a different ionization tendency from the first material. The negative electrode terminal includes a flange that is disposed so as to face the outer surface of a sealing plate. A sealing plate side insulating member is disposed between the flange and the sealing plate. A boundary between the first region and the second region has an exposed part that is exposed to the outside, and the exposed part is positioned at an opposite corner on the periphery of the flange to the sealing plate.

    Abstract: A secondary battery includes an electrode body that includes a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate an outer body that houses the electrode body; a sealing plate that is made of metal and seals an opening of the outer body; and a positive electrode terminal that is electrically connected to the positive electrode plate. At least part of the positive electrode terminal is disposed on the battery outer side with respect to the sealing plate. An external insulating member made of resin is disposed between the sealing plate and the positive electrode terminal. The conduction path between the positive electrode plate and the positive electrode terminal is provided with a current interrupting mechanism. An electrically insulating, heat resistant layer is disposed between the positive electrode terminal and the sealing plate.

    Abstract: There is provided a prismatic secondary battery having high reliability and including a connecting part, wherein a terminal member and an external conduction member are connected by a swaged part and a welded part. The terminal member includes a flange, a first connecting part formed on a first surface side of the flange, and a second connecting part formed on a second surface side of the flange. The flange and the second connecting part are disposed on a battery exterior side than a sealing body. The first connecting part penetrates a through-hole formed in the sealing body. The second connecting part penetrates a through-hole formed in an external conduction member. The second connecting part includes a tip part swaged on the external conduction member. An abutting part of a tip of the swaged part of the second connecting part and a protruding part of the external conduction member is weld-connected.
