Abstract: A flat-shaped winding electrode body in which a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate are wound with a separator interposed therebetween includes a positive electrode tab portion and a negative electrode tab portion at one end in a direction in which a winding axis of the winding electrode body extends. Two pieces of the flat-shaped winding electrode body are housed in a prismatic outer body so that the winding axis of each piece is disposed in a direction perpendicular to a sealing plate, and the positive electrode tab portion and the negative electrode tab portion are located on one end of the winding electrode body closer to the sealing plate than the other end.

Abstract: A secondary battery production method is provided, with which deformation of a current collector is reduced. The method produces a secondary battery including: an electrode assembly having positive and negative electrode plates; and a positive electrode current collector. The positive electrode plate includes a positive electrode core and a positive electrode active material layer, and the electrode assembly includes a positive electrode core-stacked portion. The method includes: an electrode assembly production step of producing the electrode assembly; and an ultrasonic bonding step of ultrasonically bonding the positive electrode current collector to the positive electrode core-stacked portion. The positive electrode current collector has a thin-walled portion. In the ultrasonic bonding step, the thin-walled portion and the positive electrode core-stacked portion are sandwiched between a horn and an anvil, and the thin-walled portion and the positive electrode core-stacked portion are ultrasonically bonded together.

Abstract: A prismatic secondary battery includes an electrode body including a positive-electrode sheet and a negative-electrode sheet, a prismatic exterior body that accommodates the electrode body, a sealing plate that seals an opening of the prismatic exterior body, and a negative terminal electrically connected to the negative-electrode sheet. The positive-electrode sheet is electrically connected to the sealing plate. The sealing plate has a recessed portion on an outer surface and a terminal insertion hole formed in the recessed portion. The negative terminal is inserted in the terminal insertion hole. An outer insulating member is disposed between the negative terminal and the sealing plate. The sealing plate has a first groove extending to an end of the recessed portion in the longitudinal direction of the sealing plate.

Abstract: A negative electrode includes a first region formed of a first material and a second region formed of a second material having a different ionization tendency from the first material. The negative electrode terminal includes a flange that is disposed so as to face the outer surface of a sealing plate. A sealing plate side insulating member is disposed between the flange and the sealing plate. A boundary between the first region and the second region has an exposed part that is exposed to the outside, and the exposed part is positioned at an opposite corner on the periphery of the flange to the sealing plate.

Abstract: There is provided a prismatic secondary battery having high reliability and including a connecting part, wherein a terminal member and an external conduction member are connected by a swaged part and a welded part. The terminal member includes a flange, a first connecting part formed on a first surface side of the flange, and a second connecting part formed on a second surface side of the flange. The flange and the second connecting part are disposed on a battery exterior side than a sealing body. The first connecting part penetrates a through-hole formed in the sealing body. The second connecting part penetrates a through-hole formed in an external conduction member. The second connecting part includes a tip part swaged on the external conduction member. An abutting part of a tip of the swaged part of the second connecting part and a protruding part of the external conduction member is weld-connected.
