Abstract:
Disclosed is a user authentication card and a method for preventing data synchronization from being performed if information stored in the user authentication card is the same as that stored when a corresponding user equipment (UE) is powered off. The user authentication card includes a memory area for storing an electronic serial number of a UE, a memory area for storing a command defined for requesting the UE to transmit the electronic serial number and a memory area for storing a command defined for requesting transmission of the stored electronic serial number to the UE. A data synchronization method with a user authentication card in a UE capable of recognizing the user authentication card includes determining whether the user authentication card is recognized when the UE is powered on, reading an electronic serial number from the user authentication card and the read electronic serial number coincides with an electronic serial number of the UE, if it is determined that the user authentication card is recognized and controlling data synchronization to be performed only when it is determined that the two electronic serial numbers do not coincide with each other.

Abstract:
A synchronization method in an OFDM based communication system. A transmitting side generates and transmits an OFDM symbol having a constant cyclic prefix, independent of time domain data symbols that are to be transmitted. A receiving side estimates a timing synchronization error based on the known cyclic prefix. Because the timing synchronization error is estimated based on the constant cyclic prefix, which is always known, a highly reliable correlation is achieved, thereby improving the accuracy of synchronization.
Abstract:
An electron emission device and a manufacturing method thereof. The electron emission device includes a first substrate and a second substrate opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween. The first and second substrates are interconnected using a sealant to thereby form a vacuum assembly. Cathode electrodes are formed on the first substrate, and electron emission sources are formed on the cathode electrodes. Further, gate electrodes are mounted on the cathode electrodes with a first insulation interposed therebetween. The gate electrodes are formed in a multi-layered structure of at least two layers. An anode electrode is formed on the second substrate, and a phosphor screen is formed on the anode electrode.

A technique for easily changing an operating system or working mode of a digital computer system includes: a CPU (central processing unit) for processing computer programs; a bus which transmits information to each system element by connecting elements to each other; a first memory connected to said bus, for temporarily storing system software and user software executed by the CPU; a second memory connected to said bus, for storing a system initialization program executed within the CPU; a backup memory which is connected to said bus and stores an operating system of a user by storing information of said first memory and system hardware; and a button detector for detecting operation of one of a plurality of buttons, each of said plurality of buttons corresponding to an operating system or working mode, said button detector providing an output to said central processing unit via said bus for causing the computer system to change operating systems or working modes in response thereto.
Abstract:
A network hibernation system for use with a computer connected to a local area network. (LAN) which is capable of retaining both data from the computer and data from the network environment created in connection with the LAN in the event of a power failure and also in the event that the computer is idle for a predetermined time period. Upon the restoration of power, the states of the computer and network hibernation system are resumed to the point before the occurrence of the power failure or the idle period. The system includes a network interface for connecting the computer to the local area network; a power controller connected to a data bus, for generating a time-out signal when the computer is in a non-use state during operation of the computer; a power supply connected to the data bus, for generating a power interrupt detection signal upon abrupt termination of a main power source to provide back-up power to the computer system for backing data of the computer in a network environment, and for terminating the back-up power upon reception of a power interrupt signal; a supplemental memory for storing data of the computer in the network environment; a system controller connected to the data bus, for controlling data of the computer in the network environment to be stored in the supplemental memory, for generating the power interrupt signal after the data of the computer in the network environment are stored in the supplemental memory in response to either the time-out signal or the power interrupt detection signal to set the computer in a network hibernation state, and for recovering stored data and restoring the computer in the network environment when the main power source is re-supplied to the computer; and a main memory for storing network hibernation information for the system controller to determine whether the computer is in the network hibernation state.
