    摘要: A device for connecting a flat cable to a wiring board in which the cable is composed of a plurality of layers. A first insulating layer carries a shield foil layer upon which a central insulation layer is placed. A plurality of conductors, parallel to each other and spaced apart transversely, are on the central layer and, in turn, are covered by a second insulating layer. The cable has a connecting end wherein the first layer and second layer are absent, thus exposing portions of the conductors and the shield layer for making contact with the device. The device itself is made up of a housing containing a series of cavities which correspond to the conductors. Each cavity contains a fixed terminal. The terminals project out of the cavities and contact the wiring board. The other ends of the contacts have a pressing element and a terminal contact. A slide plate is introduced between the pressing element and an interior of the housing, whereby the terminal contact is urged firmly against the conductors, thereby forming a good electrical connection. A holder is also provided in the housing on the shield foil layer side of the cable. Thus, the slide plate, after installation, forces the fixed terminals and the cable against the inner wall of the housing, thereby ensuring that good electrical contact is made for both circuits.

    摘要: A flat cable connector housing includes a plurality of terminal receptacles into which terminals are to be inserted, and a cable insertion chamber communicated with the terminal receptacles. A forward end of a flat cable is connected and fixed to a lock member so that the flat cable is inserted together with the lock member into the cable insertion chamber. Accordingly, lock projections formed on the lock member engage with lock grooves in the connector housing so that the flat cable together with the lock member is prevented from slipping out of the connector housing.

    摘要: An electrical connection element is formed by stamping a plate having a thickness. A contact surface is formed at an edge surface of an end portion of the electrical connection element. The end edge portion is bent toward both lateral sides of the plate to form the contact surface. The lateral edge portions are offset towards opposite sides of the plate, so that the width between the opposite lateral edges is about twice the thickness of the plate. This edge surface is flat and smooth. Therefore, if the round conductor of a ribbon tape contacts any portion of the contact surface, a good electrical contact is obtained. Thus, the electrical connection element for contacting the side surface of the round conductor of the ribbon wire can be produced from a thin plate material.

    摘要: A connector for a flat cable having a plurality of cable lines laid on a common plane in side-by-side fashion with each other, which comprises a housing having a hollow defined therein and opening outwardly at a front face. Top and bottom walls are formed with respective pluralities of first and second guide grooves both defined therein in communication with the hollow, and terminal members of generally h-shaped configuration equal in number to the number of any one of the first and second guide grooves and arranged in side-by-side fashion in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing. Each of the terminal members includes a contact finger having a contact protuberance formed integrally therewith, an anchoring finger extending generally parallel to the contact finger and connected at one end with one end of the contact finger remote from the contact protuberance, and a connecting finger. Each terminal member is accommodated within the housing with the contact and anchoring fingers firmly received within the respective first and second guide grooves while the contact protuberance protruding into the hollow. A lock-on insert is inserted into the hollow to allow the cable lines to be held in contact with the associated contact protuberances, after the flat cable has been inserted into the hollow.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a connector wherein a retainer slides from a side direction of a connector housing in which it is to be installed. An object of the present invention is to provide a connector capable of preventing a connector connected in a condition in which the retainer is not installed, and transferred to subsequent processes. As a solution, a housing main body is provided with a slider capable of sliding, the slider is hooked in a regulating position in a condition in which the retainer is not installed on the housing main body, and interferes with detection pins provided on a male connector. Therefore the connection of both the connectors becomes impossible. To the contrary, when the retainer is installed on the housing main body, the slider is transferred from a regulating position to a permitting position by the slider contact part provided on the retainer which does not interfere with the detection pins, and the connection of both connectors is permitted. Thus, connection of the connectors in a condition in which the retainer is not installed, and transfer to subsequent processes can be prevented.
