    摘要: A yawing system for a wind turbine, the wind turbine comprising a tower fixed to the ground and a frame (1) housing an electric power generator, the tower and the frame (1) being joined by the yawing system which allows the orientation of the frame (1) with respect to the tower according to the direction of the wind. The yawing system comprises: a gear ring (2) fixed to the tower, the gear ring having a sliding track (3) on which the frame (1) rests and slides in its yawing movement, at least one geared motor fixed to the frame (1), meshed with the gear ring (2) through a gear wheel, at least one active braking module (5), and at least one passive braking module (6). The invention further comprises a sliding track (3) and a friction track on the gear ring, this friction track (10) being different from the sliding track (3), and the active braking modules (5) and passive braking modules (6) comprising a friction plate (11) acting on the friction track (10) of the ring. The frame (1) rests on the gear ring (2) by means of horizontal plates (8) and radial plates (9) made of a sliding material, and are kept in their position by separating parts (7). Furthermore, the gear ring (2) is divided into gear-toothed circular segments to favor its repair. Other aspects are a wind turbine with the previous yawing system and a yawing process of a turbine by means of the previous yawing system.

    摘要: In some embodiments, a method and apparatus for an energy efficient clustered micro-architecture are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes the computation of an energy delay2 product for each active instruction scheduler and one or more associated function blocks of a current architecture configuration over a predetermined period. Once the energy delay2 product is computed, the computed product is compared against an energy delay2 product calculated for a prior architecture configuration to determine an effectiveness of the current architecture configuration. Based on the effectiveness of the current architecture configuration, a number of active instruction schedulers and one or more associated functional blocks within the current architecture configuration is adjusted. In one embodiment, the number of active instruction schedulers and one or more associated functional blocks may be increased or decreased to improve power efficiency of the cluster micro-architecture. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

    摘要: An attachable and detachable wheelchair tray with an adjustable work surface is disclosed. The adjustable work surface has two parts connected with a hinge. Part one is a horizontal stationary supporting base and part two is a movable top portion which can be tilted in an angular range of from 90 degrees to 180 degrees in relationship to the horizontal base. There is also an extendible auxiliary supporting rack attached to the movable top portion that allows the user to enlarge or reduce the work surface, thus permitting access to more items, references publications at a time. All adjustments of the work surface are easily controlled with levers, buttons or foot pedals, called “Ergo Aids” which are located on or in close proximity to the wheelchair tray, in a place that is most convenient for the seated user. Fluid piston cylinders using compressed air, carbon dioxide or nitrogen provide the power required to move and adjust the tray with minimal force being applied to each control adjustments to a work surface that were previously very difficult for persons with limited manual dexterity are now easily made because the Ergo Aids require motions that are well within the ability of a seated user.

Additionally, glues, adhesives, and epoxies are eliminated from the construction of the plastic retaining and backing ring assembly. As a result, the present invention provides a low cost alternative to suppliers and manufacturers of retaining rings and facilitates a method to exchange, recondition and recycle the retaining ring for an infinite period, thus reducing consumable waste materials. Further, the ring assembly maintains uniform mechanical properties and strict tolerances after post reconditioning, thus reducing the variability and maintaining process consistency.
