    摘要: Disclosed is a digital data transmission system comprising a transmission apparatus and a reception apparatus. The transmission apparatus generates error location information at which an error occurs in each block, in accordance with a data signal including a video signal composed of a first number of words and generated for each block, and an error information signal indicating presence or absence of an error corresponding to the data signal, multiplexes the generated error location information and the data signal into a multiplexed signal, and then, transmits the multiplexed signal through a transmission line. On the other hand, the reception apparatus receives, through the transmission line, a transmission data signal including a data signal including a video signal composed of a predetermined first number of words and generated for each block and an error pointer signal indicating error location information corresponding to the data signal, demultiplexes the received transmission data signal into the data signal and the error pointer signal, and generates error information indicating presence or absence of the error corresponding to the data signal, in accordance with the error pointer signal. The data signal is decompressed in accordance with the generated error information, and this leads to reduction of occurrence of errors.

    摘要: Digital video signals are divided in blocks, maximum and minimum values of each block are extracted, and a frequency distribution of one frame period of a dynamic range in each block is detected. The coding condition is determined by the frequency distribution and a predetermined N kinds of characteristic tables, and by determining only one characteristic table, the signal obtained by subtracting the minimum value of each block from the digital video signals of each block is coded in variable length according to the dynamic range of each block. The characteristic table shows the relationship of the distortion or the number of quantization bits between the original signal and decoded signal after coding and decoding with respect to the dynamic range of digital video signal in each block, and the picture quality of decoded image is set as a parameter.

    摘要: A signal processing apparatus comprises a reference inserting circuit for inserting a reference waveform, preferably a ramp, at periodic intervals into an analog information signal. The reference waveform varies in the range of amplitude variations of the information signal. A reference detector circuit detects the inserted reference waveform from the signal as the latter is reproduced from a recording medium or received through a transmissions medium. The detected reference waveform and the information signal are alternately applied to a correction circuit having a which stores a signal describing the relationship between the original reference waveform and the detected reference waveform which has been affected by errors present in the apparatus. The correction circuit is periodically operative in response to detection of error-affected reference waveform and transforms the waveform of the information signal according to the stored signal.

    摘要: A signal processing circuit for a video recording and reproducing apparatus comprises a ramp inserting circuit for inserting a ramp waveform at periodic intervals into a video signal during recording. The ramp waveform varies linearly as a function of time from the minimum to the maximum level of the video signal. On playback, the inserted ramp is periodically detected from a reproduced video signal by a ramp detector. The waveform of the detected ramp is corrected to improve its signal-to-noise ratio by an averaging circuit and applied to a transfer circuit having a transfer function describing the relationship between the original ramp waveform and the corrected ramp waveform. The waveform of the reproduced video signal is transformed according to the transfer function.

When a plurality of clips generated by a photographing process are connected as an edit, an edit list management section 15 identifies encoding systems of a plurality of clips (video files) to be connected and writes the identified encoding systems to an edit list file that manages an edited result. An optical disc 30 on which a clip, an edit list file, and so forth have been recorded is loaded into another reproduction apparatus. When a command that causes an edited result recorded on the optical disc 30 to be reproduced is input to the other reproduction apparatus, the reproduction apparatus reads encoding systems written in the edit list file and determines whether the encoding systems are systems for which that the reproduction apparatus can decode data. In this manner, the reproduction apparatus determines whether it can reproduce the edited result. The present invention can be applied to an edit apparatus that edits for example pictures and so forth.
