Abstract: This disclosure relates to selection of optimum channel in twin radars for efficient detection of cardiopulmonary signal rates. State-of-the-art solutions involve use of IQ (In-phase and Quadrature) channel radar which need continuous calibration. Distance of the radar from a subject being monitored affects performance. The present disclosure enables enhanced cardiopulmonary signal rate monitoring using a time domain approach, wherein only the data from signal reflected off the radar is considered. The solution is also time window adaptive. Signal property and radar physics-based methods have been implemented for selecting an optimum channel in twin radars thereby enhancing detection of respiration rate and breath rate.

Abstract: The disclosure herein generally relates to the field of determination of cardiopulmonary signals for multi-persons, and, more particularly, to determination of cardiopulmonary signals for multi-persons using in-body signals obtained by ultra-wide band (UWB) radar. The disclosed method determines of cardiopulmonary signals for multi-persons using in-body signals, wherein a UWB radar signals/waves reflected from inside a human body is utilized for efficient determination of cardiopulmonary signals. The disclosed method and system utilize the UWB radar signals to identify a number of persons along with several details about the persons that include a girth of the each identified person and the orientation of the identified person towards the one or more UWB radar. Further a chest wall distance, a breathing rate, a heart wall distance and a heart rate are determined for all the identified persons based on the identified girth and the identified orientation along with the UWB radar signals.

Abstract: Any sensing system is faced with triangle of dilemma between accuracy, latency and energy. High energy and high latency sensing systems are often very accurate but less useful. Embodiments herein provide a method and system for edge based sensor controlling in the IoT network for event monitoring. The system disclosed herein applies a hierarchical sensor selection process and adaptively chooses sensors among multiple sensors deployed in the IoT network. Further, on-the-fly changes operation modes of the sensors to automatically produce the best possible inference from the selected sensor data, in time, power and latency at the edge. Further, sensors of the system include a waveform and diversity control mechanism that enables controlling of an excitation signal of the sensor.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to action recognition and more particularly to system and method for real-time radar-based action recognition. The classical machine learning techniques used for learning and inferring human actions from radar images are compute intensive, and require volumes of training data, making them unsuitable for deployment on network edge. The disclosed system utilizes neuromorphic computing and Spiking Neural Networks (SNN) to learn human actions from radar data captured by radar sensor(s). In an embodiment, the disclosed system includes a SNN model having a data pre-processing layer, Convolutional SNN layers and a Classifier layer. The preprocessing layer receives radar data including doppler frequencies reflected from the target and determines a binarized matrix. The CSNN layers extracts features (spatial and temporal) associated with the target's actions based on the binarized matrix. The classifier layer identifies a type of the action performed by the target based on the features.

Abstract: Techniques for heart rate estimation are disclosed. In an embodiment, synchronized photoplethysmograph (PPG) and 3-axis acceleration signals are received. Further, the PPG and acceleration signals are partitioned into windows. Furthermore, it is determined whether motion is present in a window of the acceleration signal. Moreover, Fourier transform is performed on the signals to obtain power spectra of the signals in the window when there is motion. Also, it is determined whether a peak of the acceleration signal is present in a range around first highest PPG peak. Further, it is determined whether the peak of the acceleration signal affects heart rate of the user when the peak of the acceleration signal is in the range around the highest PPG peak. The heart rate of the user in the window is then estimated using second highest PPG peak when the peak of the acceleration signal affects heart rate of the user.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to methods and systems for unobtrusive and automated detection of frequencies of spatially located distinct parts of a machine. Location of vibration and detection of vibration frequency of each vibrating part in a machine is critical for routine monitoring and fault detection in the machine. Current solutions use either high frames per second (fps) industrial grade camera or stroboscopes tuned at one particular frequency. Manual stroboscopes require manual intervention for objects moving at different speeds with high convergence time. Point-lasers need prior knowledge of exact location of faults. Also Point-by-point scanning of a large machine body is time consuming. In the present disclosure, a movement detector such as RADAR enables detecting all vibration frequencies that also serve to reduce the search space of a stroboscope configured to start strobing at each detected vibration frequency to enable mapping of each vibration frequency to a corresponding vibrating part.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to monitoring of machines having one or more vibrating objects. Conventional systems that address the technical problem of detecting frequency of vibrating objects are expensive, require manual intervention, sometimes depend on prior knowledge of location of faults or involve high convergence time. Systems and methods of the present disclosure provide a cost-effective and fully automated solution that employ multiple strobe sources along with a low cost camera. Besides being cost-effective and automated, the solution also reduces convergence time significantly. Employing multiple strobe sources enables generating multiple strobing frequencies in a single iteration. The strobing frequency is a configured to be a multiple of a camera frame rate selected from a set of camera frame rates having mutually prime elements to ensure faster convergence compared to the art.

Abstract: Currently automobiles use embedded sensors and computational powers for performance optimization. For better performance and maintenance knowing driver and driving style is important. It is known that driver identification can be achieved using dedicated sensors. Since these are external sensors they add to cost and also deployment of many sensors increases operational and maintenance overhead. Embodiments of the present disclosure obtain GPS data including trip information pertaining to a vehicle being driven by a driver and features are extracted from trip information which are ranked by comparing these features with features associated with trip information of other drivers to selectively identify and obtain ranked features. Value of each ranked feature is compared with value of corresponding feature pertaining to driving patterns and an abnormality score for each relevant feature is generated and the driver is authenticated based on the abnormality score.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to systems and methods for adaptively compressing data based on compression parameters. In one embodiment, a method for compressing a dataset is disclosed, including filtering a dataset based on occurrence of an event, and determining a quality of information index indicating a measure of quality of the dataset based on a quality of information estimation function. The method may include comparing the quality of information index with a list of indices stored in a lookup table to identify a target quality of information index and corresponding compression parameters, wherein the target quality of information index is indicative of a reference measure of quality of the dataset applicable for deriving statistical inferences based on analysis of the dataset. Also, the method may include inputting the compression parameters in a compression algorithm for compressing the dataset to achieve the target quality of information index for the analysis.

Abstract: The present disclosure envisages a computer implemented system and method for Wi-Fi based indoor localization. The system includes a repository for storing attributes of the floor plan of an indoor area with respect to the zones on the floor plan. A communicating module receives a threshold number of data points from user devices located in the area. These data points include a plurality of Received Signal Strength Indicators (RSSI) captured from the access points positioned in the area. A k-means clustering is then performed on the data points for grouping the data points into ‘k’ number of clusters and a decision tree is built by following a condition based approach. Distance values are then calculated pertaining to the RSSIs stored at the decision tree, and zone circles are plotted. Zone of user presence is then determined by correlating the plotted zone circles upon the floor plan using maximum overlap property.
