    摘要: A main magnetic pole of a recording head is formed in an inverted trapezoidal shape by ion milling but, the long milling time poses a problem of variations in the inverted trapezoidal shape and the dimensional variations in track width. In one embodiment of the invention, a recording head is formed by first forming a lower magnetic pole, a gap layer, and conductor coils, forming an upper magnetic yoke over the gap layer at a position recessed from the air bearing surface, and forming an inorganic insulative layer in the recessed portion. A back magnetic pole connected with the upper magnetic yoke is formed on the back of the lower electrode. Successively, the upper surfaces of the inorganic insulative layer and the upper magnetic yoke are planarized, on which an underlayer film such as of Rh is formed. A magnetic layer is formed by stacking a plurality of thin magnetic films by sputtering over the underlayer film from the air bearing surface as far as the position overlapping the upper magnetic yoke. Successively, ion milling is applied to form a main magnetic pole of an inverted trapezoidal shape having a taper on the lateral surface as viewed from the air bearing surface.

When a mixed liquid including a dispersoid and a dispersion medium passes through liquid communication holes (19) of the inner screen member (8) and liquid communication holes (22, 25) of the outer screen members (9, 10) during the course where it flows outward from the impeller (7) to get out of an interplate space, the circumferential component of the flow vector of the mixed liquid is mostly eliminated to allow the mixed liquid to have substantially only the radial component. This prevents the generation of vortexes so as to apply a sufficiently high shearing force to the mixed liquid to effectively prevent the formation of macro bubbles in the mixed liquid.

    摘要: A 3-dimensional operation input apparatus, a control apparatus, a control system, a control method, and a handheld apparatus are provided with which planar operations are possible without an increase in the number of components. An input apparatus includes an angular velocity sensor unit and an acceleration sensor. A threshold value is set to angular velocity values detected by the angular velocity sensor unit. Depending on whether the angular velocity values are smaller than the threshold value and whether at least one of acceleration values is larger than a threshold value, a switch can be made between a planar operation mode and a 3-dimensional operation mode. Therefore, a switch can be made between the planar operation mode and the 3-dimensional operation mode without having to use a sensor other than the acceleration sensor and the angular velocity sensor without increasing the number of components.

    摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide a thin film magnetic recording head that can reduce the round portion of the track restriction part of the main pole and has excellent track width accuracy, as well as its fabrication method. In one embodiment, the main pole is etched in the following three processes. (1) An ion beam is injected into the substrate at an angle of about 50°±20° while vibrating the substrate horizontally within a range of about ±(30° to 150°) in a reference direction in which the ion beam is oriented from the medium to the air bearing surface. (2) The ion beam is injected into the substrate at an angle of about 60°±20° while vibrating the substrate around a predetermined angle of about 90° to 135° from a direction in which the ion beam is oriented from the medium to the air bearing surface. (3) The ion beam is injected into the substrate at an angle of about 60°±20° while vibrating the substrate horizontally at a predetermined angle within about ±45° around a predetermined angle within about −90° to −135° from a direction in which the ion beam is oriented from the medium to the air bearing surface.
