    摘要: A process of the present invention produces a hydroxylactone by subjecting an unsaturated carboxylic acid having a double bond not conjugated to a carboxyl group or an ester thereof to (i) a reaction with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a metallic compound containing a metallic element selected from W, Mo, V and Mn or (ii) a reaction with a peroxide containing the metallic element to thereby yield a corresponding hydroxylactone having a hydroxyl group combined with one of carbon atoms constituting the double bond and being cyclized at the other carbon atom position. The metallic compound may be one selected from oxides, oxoacids and salts thereof. The unsaturated carboxylic acid includes, for example, β,γ-unsaturated carboxylic acids, γ,δ-unsaturated carboxylic acids, and δ,ε-unsaturated carboxylic acids. The process can produce hydroxylactones in high yields at low cost.

This process can produce an oxime compound or an azine compound useful as a material for oxime compounds from low-cost materials by easy and simple procedures.

By reacting an adamantane derivative or another compound having a methine carbon atom with the acylating agent, an acyl group can be introduced to the methine carbon atom with efficiency.

    摘要: A process for producing organic sulfur acid or a salt thereof of the present invention allows an organic substrate to react with a sulfur oxide in the presence of a metallic compound catalyst and in the absence of N-hydroxy and N-oxo cyclic imide compounds and thereby yields a corresponding organic sulfur acid or a salt thereof. Such organic substrates include, for example, (a) homocyclic or heterocyclic compounds having a methylene group, (b) compounds having a methine carbon atom, (c) compounds having a methyl group or methylene group at the adjacent position to an unsaturated bond, (d) non-aromatic heterocyclic compounds having a carbon-hydrogen bond at the adjacent position to a hetero atom, and (e) straight-chain alkanes. The sulfur oxide includes, for example, sulfur dioxide. This production process can efficiently produce an organic sulfur acid or a salt thereof under mild conditions.

The carrier includes, for example, an activated carbon. As a catalytic component to be supported on the carrier, dichlorotris(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II), and other organic ruthenium complexes, for example, can be used. The invention can efficiently produce a corresponding aldehyde by oxidative cleavage of a 1,2-diol with oxygen.
