摘要: Clearly notifying that a setting error of an imaging plane of a radiation image detector is on the increase. For a radiation image detector having an imaging plane with pixels, disposed in a two-dimensional matrix, for storing charges by receiving radiation according to an amount of radiation received and used to receive radiation transmitted through the same subject each time the detector is shifted and changed in position along a predetermined shift axis, a setting error of the imaging plane, i.e., an inclination of the two-dimensional matrix with respect to the shift axis or the like is detected a plurality of times with the passage of time and, when a fluctuation range of a plurality of setting errors so detected exceeds a predetermined acceptable range, an indication or an alarm so indicating is given.

摘要: The invention provides a process for production of carbon nanotubes whereby a laminate prepared by alternating lamination of a metal catalyst and a material other than the metal catalyst is cut to expose the laminated structure, and carbon nanotubes are grown on the metal catalyst at the cut surface of the laminate. The process results in high-quality carbon nanotubes, with minimized bundle growth, which are each individually and independently arranged in a highly precise manner at prescribed locations. The invention also provides a carbon nanotube production process comprising a step of preparing a substrate which is inclined in one or two dimensions from a specific highly symmetrical crystal orientation and vapor depositing a metal catalyst along the atomic steps appearing on the surface of the substrate, and a step of growing the carbon nanotubes by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using the metal catalyst as nuclei. It is thus possible to control the growth locations, diameters, orientation and chirality of carbon nanotubes.

摘要: A molecule-releasing apparatus includes a releasing unit configured to release molecules, wherein the releasing unit comprises at least one conductive member and releases molecules electrically interacting with the conductive member to which a potential is applied, from the conductive member by changing the potential so as to remove the interaction. In a moleculue-releasing method, molecules electrically attracted to two or more conductive members are released by electrical repulsion from the conductive members at different times. The molecule-releasing apparatus and molecule-releasing method are capable of efficiently releasing or transferring various useful molecules such as DNA molecules, into targets such as cells and can be safely applied for use in gene therapy and other applications.

摘要: A machining center includes a rotatable tool magazine (22) arranged above a work space (WS) facing a spindle (15) tilted so that the spindle side becomes lower and having a plurality of grippers (24) for holding tools (16) in a circumferential direction, and a shutter (26) arranged below the tool magazine (22) to be able to open and close facing the spindle side. The tool magazine (22) has a tool-free area (AR2) where there are no grippers (24) at a part of the circumferential direction and a tool-holding area (ARA) where there are grippers (24) at another part of the circumferential direction. The tool magazine (22) is controlled in rotation so that when the shutter (26) is closed, the tool-free area (AR2) moves to the spindle side while when the shutter (26) is open, the tool-holding area (AR1) moves to the spindle side.

摘要: A body (2) of an oil jet (100) is provided with: an oil supply port (6) which opens into an oil passage (62) in a cylinder block (60) of an internal combustion engine; a cylinder (4) one end of which is communicated with the oil supply port (6) and the other end of which is closed; and an oil injection port (10) which opens on a side surface of the cylinder (4). A piston valve (20) is accommodated in the cylinder (4). The piston valve (20) forms in the cylinder (4) a differential pressure room (8) which is a closed compartment. Moreover, an orifice (22) which makes the differential pressure room (8) being communicated with a side of the oil supply port (6) is formed in the piston valve (20). The piston valve (20) is biased toward a position at which the oil injection port (10) is closed by a spring (14). Furthermore, a leak hole (42) which allows oil to be leaked outside of the body (2) from the differential pressure room (8) is formed in the body (2).

摘要: A single image is obtained from among a plurality of temporal series images. At least one of a plurality of types of classifiers, each type of classifier judging each of a plurality of predetermined states of a predetermined subject, is employed to discriminate the state of the subject within the obtained image. At least one state is predicted for the subject within the obtained image, based on stepwise changes of the state of the subject obtained by previously discriminated states within temporal series images preceding the obtained image. The classifier corresponding to the predicted state is prioritized or weighted, when applying the classifiers to perform discrimination.
