摘要: Aspects of the invention can be an inexpensive biosensor capable of measuring a number of samples in a short time, and suitable for only one-time use (expendable). The biosensor according to the invention can include a light transmissive substrate, a probe fixing region provided on one face of the light transmissive substrate, a light emitting element provided on the other face of the substrate that irradiates the probe fixing region from the back side thereof, and a light receiving element provided on the other face of the substrate that detects the light intensity of the reflected light from the back side of the probe fixing region. Thereby, a biosensor formed in one substrate can be obtained.

摘要: A method is provided to enable high-density absorption when immobilizing nucleic acid probes onto a solid support surface by suppressing electrostatic repulsion among the nucleic acids. A nucleic acid immobilization method to immobilize a nucleic acid onto a solid support, includes: preparing a solution containing a probe molecule which includes a nucleic acid, a spacer molecule, and at least one kind of a divalent cation; and contacting the solution with the solid support for incubation.

摘要: A thermal transfer magnetic ink, ink sheet and method of printing with the magnetic ink and apparatus which will print high quality images and characters. The heat-fusible magnetic ink transfer sheet includes a heat-fusible magnetic ink layer disposed on a heat resistant support film. The magnetic ink layer includes minute magnetic particles dispersed in a binder and has a surface tension lower than about 20 dynes/cm when melted. The magnetic properties of the ink combined with the melted ink's surface tension, permit avoiding contact between the ink transfer sheet and the recording medium. A magnetic field pulls the ink melted by a print head off of the support film so that the melted ink flies from the ink transfer sheet to the recording medium.

摘要: A display, comprising: a planar display section; a pixel space provided next to a side adjacent to one surface of the display section and encapsulating a plurality of kinds of colorants, each kind having a different color; an accumulation section provided in the pixel space and accumulating the colorants; a separation system that separates a specific kind of colorant from the accumulated colorants in the accumulation section; a transfer system that selects at least one kind of colorant from the separated colorants and transfers this colorant to the side adjacent to the display section of the pixel space. The separation system performs separation utilizing the magnitude of a dielectrophoretic force generated in each colorant upon receipt of an alternating electric field of a specific frequency applied by this system, the magnitude varying depending on the kind of the colorant. A color of at least the one kind of colorant transferred by the transfer system is displayed at the display section.
