    摘要： A pointing device is placed in a through hole provided on an outer case of the portable information terminal. The terminal includes a fingerplate attached to a through hole via a hinge; an image pick-up element placed on a circuit board; a condensing lens that forms an image on an outer surface of the fingerplate on an image pick-up plane of the image pick-up element; and a light emitting device that irradiates the outer surface of the fingerplate with illumination light, and takes the image of a pattern such as a fingerprint that touches the outer surface of the fingerplate by using the image pick-up element. When the fingertip moves, the image taken by the image pick-up element changes and the pointer displayed on a display screen is moved in a direction according to the movement of the fingertip.

    摘要： The prior art in this field had a display portion of electronic paper at a part of a shelf and showed a problem that the display portion and the goods were hardly co-related to each other in response to an arrangement of the goods. In addition, it was necessary to prepare a special display substrate for changing all the shelf lengths into a display portion and its price was expensive. It was necessary to provide a signal line and a wiring for power supply up to the display portion and so it was necessary to perform a wiring at the shelf surface with opaque raw material or perform a connecting work for the wiring every time when the shelf was transferred. In view of the foregoing, plural images (either still images or animations) arranged in response to the number of stages of the shelves to be displayed are irradiated with a light source after each of the images is corrected in correspondence with the optical path length ranging from the light source to the end of each of the shelves, each of the images is guided to the end of each of the shelves by plural reflector members and then the images are displayed at the ends.     摘要： As the number of contents which a user can access (TV programs, images stored on HDD or Internet news) is increasing, the contents a viewer wishes to view is becoming increasingly diverse, and consequently the question of how to view these contents efficiently is now a major problem. In other words, this huge volume of broadcast content also contains information which the user does not require, and it is difficult to efficiently acquire only the required information without any error. To resolve this problem, there are therefore provided an information reading apparatus comprising a receiving means which receives first and second broadcast signals, an information reading means which displays and reads the first broadcast signal received by the receiving means as first image information, a storage means which stores the second image information contained in the second broadcast signal, and an extraction means which extracts a part of the second image information stored by the storage means, wherein the information display means displays a part of the image in the second image information extracted by the extraction means superimposed on the image of the first image information, and reads it.
