    摘要: The present invention is intended to detect a failure of a PM filter with a higher degree of accuracy. The present invention is provided with: a PM trapping efficiency calculation part to calculate a PM trapping efficiency (which is a proportion of an amount of particulate matter trapped with respect to an amount of inflow particulate matter) based on an amount of inflow particulate matter obtained by an inflow particulate matter obtaining part, and an amount of outflow particulate matter detected by a PM sensor; and a failure detection part to make a determination that a failure has occurred in the PM filter, in cases where there has appeared a tendency for the PM trapping efficiency to decrease during a period of time until the execution of the following filter regeneration processing is started after the completion of execution of the filter regeneration processing.

    摘要: An abnormality diagnosis apparatus for an NOx catalyst of the present invention measures an index value (R) regarding an NOx clarification capacity of an NOx catalyst and determines an abnormality of the NOx catalyst based on index values (R1, R2) respectively measured at a timing (Tc1) at which the NOx catalyst has a relatively-low activation level and a timing (Tc2) at which the NOx catalyst has a relatively-high activation level. Since the index value at the timing at which the NOx catalyst has a relatively-low activation level (i.e., a timing at which the NOx catalyst originally does not have a sufficient NOx clarification capacity) is used, the abnormality diagnosis for the NOx catalyst can be carried out without intentionally deteriorating emission.

    摘要: The deterioration judgment for an absorption reduction type NOx catalyst is performed quickly and correctly. A catalyst deterioration judging system includes a supply unit which supplies a reducing agent, a measuring unit which measures a NOx concentration in an exhaust gas at a position downstream from the catalyst, a control unit which regulates an amount of the reducing agent so that an air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is a lean air-fuel ratio when the reducing agent is supplied from the supply unit, and a judging unit which judges deterioration of the catalyst on the basis of the NOx concentration measured by the measuring unit when the amount of the reducing agent is regulated so that the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas is the lean air-fuel ratio when NOx is absorbed by the catalyst.
