摘要: A fluid sensor protection assembly for protecting a fluid sensor comprises a housing receiving the fluid sensor. The housing includes a bottom wall having a lower inner flow-through opening, a top wall spaced apart from the bottom wall in a vertical direction and having an upper inner flow-through opening, a lower cover member covering the lower inner flow-through opening on an outside of the housing, and an upper cover member covering the upper inner flow-through opening on the outside of the housing. The lower cover member is spaced apart from the lower inner flow-through opening in the vertical direction and forms a lower outer flow-through opening. The upper cover member is spaced apart from the upper inner flow-through opening in the vertical direction and forms an upper outer flow-through opening. A continuous flow-through passage through the housing extends between the lower outer flow-through opening and the upper outer flow-through opening.

摘要: A method of operating an aftertreatment system of an internal combustion engine having a lean nitrogen-oxides trap and a reductant storage device placed downstream of the lean nitrogen-oxides trap is disclosed. A regeneration of the lean nitrogen-oxides trap is performed. During the regeneration, a reductant concentration between the lean nitrogen-oxides trap and the reductant storage device is measured. An amount of reductant produced by the nitrogen-oxides trap is calculated on the basis of the measured concentration. The amount of reductant produced may be used to stop regeneration of the LNT if this amount reaches the maximum available storage capacity, or to trigger a test of the proper functioning of the reductant storage device if there is at least a minimum amount of reductant available, or to switch to another operation mode of the reductant storage device and/or the LNT, in particular if this amount is larger than a threshold value.

A second ammonia injector is positioned downstream of the first treatment element. The second ammonia injector is configured to inject ammonia into the exhaust gas pathway at a second rate. A controller is configured to estimate an amount of particulate present in the exhaust gas and adjust at least one of the first rate or the second rate based on the estimate.

The engine module is structured to interpret engine in-cylinder data regarding an operating condition within a cylinder of an engine, wherein the engine in-cylinder data includes an engine torque, an engine speed, a rail pressure, and a start-of-injection. The in-cylinder content module is structured to interpret at least one additional in-cylinder data point regarding the operating condition within the cylinder of the engine. The engine out NOx module is structured to determine an engine out NOx amount responsive to the engine in-cylinder data and the at least one additional in-cylinder data point.

The processor is configured to receive a first signal from a first sensor indicative of a first exhaust measurement, wherein the first sensor is disposed at a catalytic converter system inlet of a catalytic converter system. The processor is further configured to derive one or more of an estimated length, estimated volume, or estimated transport delay of an exhaust conduit based on the first signal, wherein a first end of the exhaust conduit is connected to an engine outlet of a engine, and a second end of the exhaust conduit is connected to the catalytic converter system inlet; and to apply the one or more of estimated length, estimated volume, or estimated transport delay of the exhaust conduit during control of the engine.

An example system includes a selective catalytic reduction on filter (SCRF) and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst positioned downstream of the SCRF. The system also includes a first reductant doser positioned upstream of the SCRF and a second reductant doser positioned downstream of the SCRF and upstream of the SCR catalyst. The system further includes first and second nitrogen oxide (NOx) sensors positioned upstream of the first reductant doser, a third NOx sensor positioned downstream of the SCRF and upstream of the second reductant doser, and a catalyst positioned upstream of the first reductant doser.

The aftertreatment system may have at least one exhaust passage and a plurality of reductant injectors that are controllable to dose reductant into the at least one exhaust passage. The aftertreatment system may also have at least one sensor configured to generate a signal indicative of an exhaust parameter and a controller in communication with each of the plurality of reductant injectors and the sensor. The controller may be configured to dynamically adjust the dosing of the plurality of injectors, wherein adjusting the dosing includes adjusting at least one of an injector timing, an injector sequence, and a grouping of the plurality of injectors that are simultaneously injecting based on the signal.

The second ammonia injector is configured to inject ammonia into the exhaust gas pathway at a second rate different from the first rate. The exhaust gas treatment system further includes a second treatment element positioned downstream of the second ammonia injector.
