    摘要： A syringe and detachable needle assembly having reduced dead space features includes an elongate syringe barrel having open distal end including a collar and a distally facing annular surface projecting inwardly from the collar. A needle assembly includes a hub having a proximally facing annular surface and an outwardly projecting annular sealing ring positioned distally from the surface. The needle assembly also includes a cannula having a lumen therethrough connected to the distal end of the hub. Structure is provided for engaging the hub to the barrel resulting in the annular surface of the barrel contacting the annular surface of the hub to form a primary seal between said barrel and said hub and the annular sealing ring contacting the collar to form a secondary seal between the barrel and the hub.

While the plunger is pulled back, the needle of the safety syringe disengages from the plunger, and the needle and the needle holder integral are received within the hollow barrel. With the syringe cover coupled to the aperture end of the hollow barrel, the medical personnel are prevented from being pricked with needles because of exposure of needles retained within the hollow barrels by mutual jostle between syringes in medical wastes.

A pre-applied layer of lubricant covers the inner and outer surfaces of the shaft. A slide is slidingly received within the shaft. An adaptor on the cannula includes a fitting forming a tapered bore sized to allow an outer end of a receptacle post to compressively contact the end of the shaft. An elastic sealing device is configured to be compressed between the fitting and the receptacle when the receptacle post is received within the tapered bore. This sealing device further seals the connection, protecting the tissue from contamination.

    摘要： A disposable syringe includes a tubular needle seat inserted into a barrel for fixing a needle cannula. The needle seat has an axially extending cavity with a radially yieldable catch disposed therein. A plunger is movable in the barrel, and has an engaging head defining a rearwardly facing shoulder wall which is retained by the catch when the engaging head is extended into the cavity by a pushing force applied to the plunger. The barrel defines friction diminishing regions such that when the needle seat is moved past the friction diminishing regions to be placed to a disposal position, friction between the needle seat and the barrel is diminished, thereby facilitating a subsequent pulling action of the plunger for retracting the needle cannula into the barrel.

The flange portion is elastically deformed to be brought into an elastically deformed state by means of reaction force from a material accommodated within the accommodation space when the seal member is slid towards the distal end of the barrel by means of pressing force applied onto the plunger body so as to force the material out of the accommodation space, and presses the plunger body back towards the proximal end of the barrel by means of self-restoring force of the flange portion when the pressing force is released from the plunger body.
