Abstract:
A filter assembly including a filter screen (27) comprising a band (27′) of porous material extending between two axially aligned opposing ends (38, 38′) and defining a cylindrical periphery (29), wherein the ends (38, 38′) are each secured to a dynamic tensioning mechanism (46) that permits the ends (38, 38′) to move bi-directionally relative to one another about the periphery (29) of the filter screen (27).
Abstract:
A pulper for pulping a fiber suspension includes a vessel, an extraction plate assembly and a rotor. The extraction plate assembly is disposed within the vessel and includes a metal plate with a plurality of holes extending therethrough. A plurality of metal inserts are respectively disposed within the holes and project from the plate. Each insert is removably attached to the plate. A rotor is disposed within the vessel adjacent to the extraction plate assembly. The inserts are removably attached to the plate by brazing the inserts within the holes, or slightly shrinking the inserts using liquid nitrogen and placing the inserts in the holes.
Abstract:
The present invention is a dual-stage, gravity continuously-backwashed filtering system for filtering contaminants from wastewater. This filtering system has a first sand-filter unit that is loaded with wastewater influent. The filtering sytem has injection points for coagulation chemicals and disinfection chemicals. The first sand-filter unit is connected in series to a second sand-filter unit of similar design. The first sand-filter unit is made up of large-grained sand, the second sand-filter unit fine-grained sand. The second sand-filter unit receives its influent from the effluent weir of the first sand-filter unit. The reject water from the second filter unit is re-introduced into the influent that is fed to the first filter unit. The reject matter from the first filter unit is passed to waste.
Abstract:
This invention pertains to a filter in general and particularly to a filter for use in filtering hydraulic oil circulating in a hydraulic system provided for a hydraulic machine. The filter is formed in a loop and includes at least two filtering materials having different filtration porosities. Those filtering materials are arranged in the circumferential direction of the loop. Since filtering materials are arranged in the circumferential direction, the filter can be manufactured at the same size as the existing filters so that it can be accommodated in the existing filter cases. Also, since the filter has more than one filtration accuracies, it is capable of catching impurities of various sizes. In operation, most of the liquid to be filtered tends to pass through the less fine filtration martial. Thus, the filter creates a small pressure loss.
Abstract:
A filter for molten metal comprises a series of at least two refractory mineral material plates which define between them one or more cavities. The plates each comprise a series of holes through which the liquid metal passes and by which the liquid metal is filtered. At least one of the cavities contains a material for treating the metal, for example a material for inoculating the liquid metal. The filter is used among other things to filter and treat molten metals simultaneously and to improve the quality of the metal.
