Abstract:
A filtration system includes a pre-filter device configured to strain contaminants from liquid. The pre-filter device includes a strainer body, a strainer sleeve secured to the strainer body, and a fastener configured to pass through the strainer sleeve to secure the pre-filter device to a container.
Abstract:
A filter assembly has a compressible filtering medium (18, 19) disposed in the flow path of water from the upstream region of an inlet chamber (11) to a downstream outlet (17). Said compression of the filter medium by the water passing through the filter assembly increases the proportion of the overall flow path of water constituted by a low resistance portion of the flow path. The clogging of the filter medium thus leads to an increase in water pressure in the upstream region which, in turn, causes compression of the filter medium, which compression tends to increase the water flow rate through the outlet so as to counter the reduction in water flow rate causes by the clogging.
Abstract:
A filter device for separating solid material from a liquid includes a filter housing with vertically extending removable sidewalls wherein at the location of the removable sidewalls connections are provided to receive two vertically extending sidewalls in spaced parallel relationship whereby a fluid impermeable sidewall may be inserted into the circumferential section of the housing when a liquid permeable section is removed for cleaning without interfering with the continual operation of the filter device.
Abstract:
A photocatalyst for air purification, a photocatalyst film including the photocatalyst, and an air purification device including the photocatalyst. The photocatalyst for air purification includes: a first metal oxide particle having ultraviolet absorptivity, and fluorine bound to a surface of the first metal oxide particle; second metal oxide particles present on the surface of the first metal oxide particle. The use of the photocatalyst for air purification to remove or degrade volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and viruses.
Abstract:
Screen designs and screens for a mechanical separation device are disclosed for separating solids from liquids in a process stream. A screen may have a plurality of openings, which are conical shaped, having a diameter of about 1.0 mm to about 1.4 mm in size that are formed on a stainless steel sheet.
Abstract:
A filter and filter media configured and arranged for placement in a fuel stream is disclosed. The filter and filter media allow for filtering of liquid fuels, such as diesel fuel. In certain embodiments the filter media includes a media fiber (such as glass) and a binder fiber (such as bicomponent) that combine to create a media structure having low solidity and relatively low compressibility, and which contain a pore structure that avoids premature fouling of the filter by fuel degradation products.
Abstract:
A pervious concrete slab is pre-cast in a reusable mold or form to define at least one keyway configured and arranged to engage with a complementary keyway of another similar pre-cast pervious concrete slab. The concrete slab is then cured in a controlled environment, transported to an installation site, and installed.
Abstract:
In a device for dissolving water-soluble, powdery polymers which has a pipe with an inlet to introduce the polymer solution containing gel components and an outlet to discharge the polymer solution, the gel content in the polymer solution is reduced without reducing the viscosity of the polymer solution by means of the fact that the pipe is formed of a plurality of pipe sections which are provided with filters and can be connected with one another.
Abstract:
A filter device for separating solid material from a liquid includes a filter housing with vertically extending removable sidewalls wherein at the location of the removable sidewalls E-shaped connections are provided to receive two vertically extending sidewalls in spaced parallel relationship whereby a fluid impermeable sidewall may be inserted into the circumferential section of the housing when the liquid permeable section is removed for cleaning without interfering with the continual operation of the filter device. A pump or other apparatus are provided within the housing for removing filtered waste water therefrom.
Abstract:
A combination skimmer and filter apparatus for filtering water drawn from the surface of a water-filled spa is disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing that is attached to a side wall of the spa, a filter positioned within the housing, a strainer basket that is positioned within the housing and above the filter, an access door that is releasably coupled to the housing and that opens for access to the filter and strainer basket, and a weir plate that is pivotably coupled to the top of the access door.
