摘要: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for providing enhanced indirect evaporative cooling of air, water, fuel, or other fluids while controlling the humidity. The design makes cooling down to the dew point possible without energy input other than the energy to produce the fluid flow needed. The design makes use of stacked composite plates (7) with channels (1, 2) for fluid flow between adjacent plates. On opposing surface areas of these plates, there are wet areas (4) or dry areas (3). The wet areas (4) provide cooling by conventional evaporation which is in turn used to cool the fluids in contact with the dry areas (3). The benefit is controlled heat transfer, which allows selected cooling of fluid flow such that the temperature as low as dew point are reachable.

摘要: A method for conditioning air for an enclosure in which a supply air stream is cooled with a refrigerant system containing a variable compressor by passing the air over a cooling coil to reduce the temperature thereof; the thus cooled supply air stream is then passed through a segment of a rotating desiccant wheel under conditions which increase its temperature and reduce its moisture content, and then delivered to the enclosure. The desiccant wheel is regenerated by heating a regeneration air stream with the condensing coil of the refrigerant system, and then passing the heated regeneration air stream through another segment of the rotating desiccant wheel. At least one condition of the supply air stream, the regeneration air stream, and/or the refrigerant system is sensed or monitored and the output of the compressor is controlled in response to the sensed condition.

摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus for dehumidifying air supplied to an enclosed space by an air conditioning unit. The apparatus includes a partition separating the interior of the housing into a supply portion and a regeneration portion. The supply portion has an inlet for receiving supply air from the air conditioning unit and an outlet for supplying air to the enclosed space. A regeneration fan creates the regeneration air stream. The apparatus includes an active desiccant wheel positioned such that a portion of the wheel extends into the supply portion and a portion of the wheel extends into the regeneration portion, so that the wheel can rotate through the supply air stream and the regeneration air stream to dehumidify the supply air stream. A heater warms the regeneration air stream as necessary to regenerate the desiccant wheel. The invention also comprises a hybrid system that combines air conditioning and dehumidifying components into a single integrated unit.

摘要: A first channel (20) is formed by sequentially connecting a compressor (21), a heat exchanger (30) and an expander (22). In the first channel (20), an outside air is taken through a first inlet duct (23) and supplied to a room through a first outlet duct (24). A second channel (40) is formed by connecting both ends of the heat exchanger (30) to ducts (43, 44). In the second channel (40), a room air is taken through the second inlet duct (43) and discharged to outdoors through the second outlet duct (44). A moisture absorbing section (62) of a dehumidifying mechanism (60) is provided in the first inlet duct (23), while a moisture releasing section (63) thereof is provided in the second inlet duct (43). A rotor member (61) including a solid adsorbent rotatively moves between the moisture absorbing section (62) and the moisture releasing section (63). Air dehumidified in the moisture absorbing section (62) is supplied to the compressor (21).

摘要: A gas dryer includes a housing, and a drying drum in the housing which is permeable to allow a flow of gas through the drum between its opposite first and second ends. A first flow guide is located at the first end of the drum and a second flow guide is located at the second end of the drum. The first and second flow guides define between them a primary region of the drum for a primary gas flow to flow through the drum, and a secondary region of the drum for a secondary gas flow to flow through the drum, and are mounted for rotation about the drum axis so that boundaries between the primary and secondary regions rotate around the drum. The permeable structure of the drying drum and the flow guides allow the primary and secondary gas flows to flow through their respective regions of the drum without significant mixing.

摘要: A rotor and a sealing device for a rotary adsorber is disclosed. The rotor includes a rim, spokes, arc-shaped sectors, a calking material, and a thermal insulating seal. The spokes divides the rim into arc-shaped portions. The sectors are disposed in the rim and include a gas adsorptive element. The calking material is provided between each sector and one of the rim and the spoke. The thermal insulating seal covers end surfaces of the spokes and joint portions of the sectors. The sealing device includes a sealing material, a mounting plate, a connecting portion, a rod member, and a spring. The sealing material is slidably interposed between a partitioning frame of the rotary adsorber and the mounting plate. The connecting portion fixes the mounting plate to the partitioning frame. The rod member is fixed to the connecting portion. The spring is interposed between the sealing material and the connecting portion.

摘要: An apparatus and method for automatically regulating the environmental system of a motorized vehicle and other articles having storage compartments. As impinging air flow is directed through the cabin or compartment subject to environmental control it comes in contact with a desiccant filler contained within a desiccant wheel or canister. The desiccant material absorbs moisture out of the air stream. The resultant air stream, or the extracted moisture released into another air stream, may then be directed to the interior of the motorized vehicle or used in other parts of the system. The net effect is a decrease or increase in the relative humidity level of the air mass contained in the cabin or compartment of a motorized vehicle or refrigeration unit. As one portion or element of the desiccant filler becomes saturated, the other portion or element of the desiccant filler completes it's regeneration cycle. The air streams are altered so that the designated air stream remains in either the hydrous or anhydrous desiccant, thus producing a constant air flow containing either an increased relative humidity or an air stream with a reduced relative humidity to achieve the desired result. The apparatus includes, at least one moisture collection device having an inlet and an outlet, and a system of flow conduits or paths into and out of the compartment or cabin. The air streams may be directed to at least one heat exchanger, a pre-cooler, a compressor, or an evaporator.

摘要: A method and apparatus for conditioning air for an enclosure is disclosed in which a supply air stream, preferably from the atmosphere is cooled by the cooling coil of a refrigerant cooling system to reduce the temperature and humidity thereof to first predetermined level. The thus cooled and dehumidified air is then passed through a segment of a rotating desiccant wheel under conditions which reduce moisture content and increase temperature to a second predetermined temperature range. The supply air is then delivered from the desiccant wheel to the enclosure. The desiccant wheel is regenerated by heating a separate regeneration air stream, also preferably from the atmosphere, using the condensing coil of the refrigerant system in order to increase the regeneration air stream temperature to a third predetermined temperature range. The thus heated regeneration air stream is then passed through another segment of the rotating desiccant wheel to regenerate the wheel.
