摘要: A tubular automatic weapon includes a barrel having a rear terminal portion defining a chamber, and a breech block having a breech block axis and being arranged for movement in axial alignment with the barrel. The breech has a block housing, a rotary head; an iron core secured within the head; a permanent magnet situated within the head and being movable relative to the iron core in inductive relationship therewith; an energy accumulator for storing the kinetic energy derived from the motion of the housing towards a rearward position; and a coupling arrangement for connecting the energy accumulator with the permanent magnet to cause the permanent magnet to be propelled forwardly relative to the iron core by the energy released by the energy accumulator, thereby generating a magnetic field for inducing an igniting current in a cartridge situated in the chamber.

摘要: Method and apparatus are provided for coupling a temporally short electric power pulse from a thick flat-conductor power cable into a thin flat-conductor slapper detonator circuit. A first planar and generally circular loop is formed from an end portion of the power cable. A second planar and generally circular loop, of similar diameter, is formed from all or part of the slapper detonator circuit. The two loops are placed together, within a ferrite housing that provides a ferrite path that magnetically couples the two loops. Slapper detonator parts may be incorporated within the ferrite housing. The ferrite housing may be made vacuum and water-tight, with the addition of a hermetic ceramic seal, and provided with an enclosure for protecting the power cable and parts related thereto.

摘要: An electrically ignited load such as a fusehead is connected to the secondary winding of a transformer. The secondary winding is magnetically linked to a primary winding through a magnetic circuit and the transformer is constructed so as to provide a substantial leakage inductance associated with the secondary winding and effectively connected in series with the load to be ignited. The structure selectively passes electrical ignition energy to the load only in response to input electrical energy having predetermined magnitude and frequency characteristics.

摘要: Disclosed is an electrical firing circuit for initiating percussive-primed cartridges wherein the base of the cartridge forms one electrode of a spark gap which has connected thereacross an RF pulse generating means and a charged capacitor. When energized, the pulse means ionizes the air in the spark gap whereupon the capacitor discharges thereacross causing heating of the cartridge base containing the primer mix whereby the primer mix is initiated and hence the cartridge.

摘要: An ignition system particularly for setting off an explosive charge includes an inductive connection, between an electrical ignition system for the charge and a feed voltage source for actuating the system, by means of transformer windings. The electrical ignition system includes an electrical ignition element which is actuated by the voltage induced in two coils, or transformer winding sections, of the ignition system which are wound in an opposite sense and arranged in series. The transformer winding of the ignition system is harmonized with the transformer winding having the feed voltage applied thereto and which may be inductively coupled to the transformer winding of the ignition system. The transformer winding having the feed voltage applied thereto also comprises two coils, or winding sections, wound in an opposite sense. The construction includes plug type connections, for example in the form of a female member or bushing which is adapted to receive a plug member or male part, the two parts having corresponding spaced inductive coils which align in the plugged in arrangement. The coils may also be formed on a flat plate in side-by-side relationship so that when a transmitting set arranged on one plate is superimposed on a receiving set on another plate, the corresponding coils may be superimposed.

The invention also concerns a plasma generator therefor, and an ammunition unit containing said plasma generator.
