    摘要: In a printing apparatus including a reception buffer which stores setting data and printing data of printing element arrays transmitted from a connected host device, and a printing buffer which stores the printing data of the printing element arrays in association with printing positions in a scanning direction, the printing data are controlled to be stored in the printing buffer by adjusting the storage positions of the printing data of the printing element arrays on the basis of registration information which is contained in the setting data and corresponds to the relative distance between the printing element arrays in the scanning direction. Read address information for reading out the printing data stored in the printing buffer is controlled for each printing element array. Printing is performed by driving each printing element array in accordance with the printing data read out on the basis of the read address information. The printing apparatus executes a registration adjustment process associated with the relative distance between the printing element arrays that has conventionally been done in a host device, simplifying a printing data generation process by the host device.

    摘要: A tandem type color printer, having optical beam scanning units and corresponding photosensitive drums, which detects a positional shift of a scanning locus occurring on a corresponding one of the plurality of photosensitive drums, and automatically corrects the detected positional shift of the scanning locus. A detecting window, in which a beam transmission time varies with a change in the beam scanning position, is provided at each of the start end side and the terminal end side of each of a plurality of beam scanning loci in a mask plate. The mask plate is arranged between the optical beam scanning units and the photosensitive drums, to provide output of a detection signal corresponding to the incident time of the transmission beam resulting from beam scanning by a light source, and thus determines and corrects the direction and the amount of positional shift of the scanning locus.

    摘要: A color printer prints a color image on photosensitive material by utilizing a digital micromirror device. The digital micromirror device is provided with four micromirror arrays constituted of plural micromirrors. The four micromirror arrays record four lines on a photographic paper at the same time while the photographic paper is successively advanced at constant velocity. Red exposure sequence, green exposure sequence and blue exposure sequence are performed in order while the photographic paper is advanced by L. Each of the exposure sequences is changed in order every advancement of photographic paper by L/3. The photographic paper passes through four lines projected by the four micromirror arrays in order. Accordingly, a pixel on the photographic paper is exposed four times at the ceiling by four micromirrors arranged on a same row for each color. Accordingly, multiple exposure is performed during advancement of the photographic paper.

    摘要: A color spatial light modulator has red, green, and blue micromirror arrays juxtaposed in parallel. Each micromirror array has a number of micromirrors each formed with a filter for reflecting specific color light. As data "1" is written to a memory cell of an SRAM, the micromirror tilts by +.theta. and enters a valid reflection state in which spot light is utilized. As data "0" is written, the micromirror tilts by -.theta. and enters an invalid reflection state in which spot light is not utilized. A data write control circuit converts image data into mirror drive data and writes it to SRAM. Three-color parallel line light beams generated by the three-color micromirror arrays are projected by a projector lent onto color paper. A three-color image is printed line sequentially on the color paper.

    摘要: A cathode ray tube is coated on the inside of its fiber optic front plate with a broad band phosphor. In front of the front plate a second fiber optic plate is located. Three parallel strips of dichroic color filters are vapor deposited on the inside of the second plate. Optical contact between the two optical fiber plates is established by a layer of immersion oil. A photosensitive material is moved at a slight distance along the second fiber optic plate transversely to the color filter strips so that it will be exposed line by line. The use of filters in place of different phosphors to produce the individual colors produces significantly improved color separation and thus better reproduction of the image, while retaining the inherent advantages of fiber optic plates.

    摘要: A color image copying system (10) employs a cathode-ray tube (16) that employs a diffraction grating face plate (38) which for each image disperses to predetermined focal regions (132, 143, and 136) light rays of corresponding wavelengths. The light rays sequentially expose a region 80 of a scrolled light-sensitive medium (42) to form a composite color copy of the image. Bands of phosphorescent materials (32, 34, and 36) are applied on angularly inclined subregions (146, 148, and 150) of the inner surface (144) of the face plate and intercept a raster-scanned electron beam (22) to develop light of the different wavelengths. The inner surface of the face plate has angularly inclined subregions (146, 148, and 150) that provide for incident light rays of each wavelength an angular offset of equal magnitude but opposite rotational sense to compensate for changes in diffraction angles (.beta..sub.1, .beta..sub.2, and .beta..sub.3) that would otherwise result from the transmission of different wavelengths of light through the diffraction grating.
