The dilator further includes an expandable membrane disposed over the body in the distal end portion, the membrane having an inner region in fluid communication with the dilator lumen.

摘要: A neonatal pneumothorax decompression device is disclosed. The device comprises a needle stabilizer, a pressure indicator, and a fluid evacuation pump. The needle stabilizer is configured to facilitate insertion of the needle into a subject's pleural cavity and to hold a needle at an adjustable length. The pressure indicator is coupled to the proximal end of the needle stabilizer and is configured to visibly display pressure within the subject's pleural cavity. The fluid evacuation pump is configured to be actuated by a user to evacuate air or fluid from the subject's pleural cavity through the needle. The fluid evacuation pump is proximally coupled to the pressure indicator and the needle stabilizer.

摘要: The disclosure provides a method of placing a cardiac drainage cannula into a patient's heart. In some embodiments, the method comprises the steps of (a) inserting the cannula percutaneously into an internal jugular vein, (b) advancing the cannula through the internal jugular vein and into the right atrium of the heart, and (c) advancing the cannula through the atrial septum into the left atrium of the heart. Further aspects of the disclosure provide a method of draining blood from the left atrium or left ventricle of a patient's heart using a cardiac drainage cannula. The disclosure also provides a cardiac drainage cannula and a mechanical circulatory support system.

The device may further include a needle guide assembly connected to the housing that receives a needle for insertion into the body of the patient so that the needle can be visualized by the ultrasonic probes in real time. Each of a first subset of the ultrasound probes is positioned such that a direction of ultrasound waves generated thereby is through the body side and perpendicular to the body side. Each of a second subset of the ultrasound probes is positioned non-perpendicular to the body side such that a direction of ultrasound waves generated by each of the second subset of ultrasound probes is toward a site of penetration of the needle into the body of the patient.

摘要: A reconfigurable suture needle includes an elongated body having a curved proximal section and a curved distal section. The curved proximal section is hollow and includes an elongated conduit extending from a proximal end to a distal end thereof. The elongated body has a first configuration with a higher profile in which the hollow post of the curved distal section is inserted into the elongated conduit at the distal end of the curved proximal section, and a second configuration with a lower profile in which the hollow post of the curved distal section is uncoupled from the elongated conduit at the distal end of the curved proximal section.

The implant seat and the needle withdrawal seat are guided by the guiding set to move stably, thereby achieving easy control of production tolerances, increasing production speed and yield rate, improving the stability of needle implantation, and making needle implantation more painless and sensationless.
