摘要: A passive array of acoustic sensors capture acoustic signals produced by sand movement. The array tool is deployed downhole where it passively listens for acoustic energy generated by sand movement in the well. Once acoustic signals are acquired, model-based frameworks are used to extract single and multiple sensor features from the acoustic signals. The extracted features are used as signatures to detect or classify the production of sand.

摘要: A method for determining an operating envelope for a wellbore includes receiving an indication of sand ingress into the wellbore from at least one production zone, sand transport along the wellbore, or both while producing one or more fluids from the wellbore from the at least one production zone, correlating a force on a production face of the at least one production zone of the wellbore with the sand ingress, the sand transport, or both, and determining an operating envelope based on the correlating. The operating envelope defines a boundary for the force on the production face of the at least one production zone of the wellbore during a production of the one or more fluids from the at least one production zone.

摘要: A system for inspecting flexible pipelines comprises a data analyzer, a data collector and an ultrasonic transducer. Further, the ultrasonic transducer is adapted to propagate shear wave into the annulus of the flexible pipeline. The data collector further comprises a data store and a communicator. Further, the system is capable of differentiating flooding and non-flooding condition of the annulus of the flexible pipeline which is subjected to high pressure. Using the system, an indicator of a flooded or non-flooded condition within the flexible pipeline may be calculated using transmitted and detected reflective waves or the lack of detected reflective waves.

摘要: Various apparatus or methods are arranged to operate a tool in a wellbore, where the tool has a number of acoustic sensors. Scanning images obtained by the tool sensors along the borehole can be combined to increase the contrast of leak location with respect to background noise. A sequence of beamformed images, generated from signals captured by the tool as it moves over a range of depths of the wellbore, can be acquired. Each beamformed image may overlap at least one other beamformed image of the sequence. The beamformed images can be processed and the processed beamformed images can be combined, forming a stitched image. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods operable in providing stitched images can operate in a variety of applications.

摘要: The combination of one or more 3-component microseismic sensors deployed into a wellbore adjacent a microseismic event and a linear array of distributed fiber optic acoustic sensors deployed uphole thereof provides two sets of data for establishing noise-free signals for locating the microseismic event in the formation about the wellbore. The distributed fiber optic signals monitor noise transmitted along coiled tubing used to pump a completion operation or as a result of the fluid flowing through the casing or coiled tubing, or along wireline used to deploy the microseismic sensors. The noise is mapped and extrapolated for estimating noise at the 3-component sensors. The estimated noise is removed from the 3-component sensor data for producing clean signals representing the location of the microseismic events.

摘要: A device and method for imaging, measuring and identifying multiphase fluid flow in wellbores using phased array Doppler ultrasound. The device includes a radially-configured or ring-shaped ultrasound transducer that when deployed in a well in Doppler mode can measure the velocity of radially flowing fluids in the wellbore and generate a 3D image of radial flow in the wellbore, including flowback into the wellbore after fracturing operations, or flow leaving the wellbore during water injection operations. The ring-shaped ultrasound transducer can also simultaneously operate in a B-mode to generate a B-mode image of the wellbore liner upon which the Doppler image can be overlaid. The device may also include a forward facing ultrasound transducer either instead of or in place of the ring-shaped transducer for obtaining information and images on axial flow in the wellbore in Doppler mode, and the location of phase boundaries and phase locations in B-mode.

摘要: A system for evaluating the flow of pressurized fluid flowing through perforation clusters in a wellbore casing of a hydraulic fracturing wellbore. The system can temporarily increase an intensity of acoustic emissions produced by the pressurized fluid flowing through the perforation clusters and can employ an optical fiber-based acoustic sensing system disposed on or in a monitoring well residing in the formation but remotely from the hydraulic fracturing well to measure the acoustic emissions while the intensity of the acoustic emissions is temporarily increased. The measured acoustic emissions can be converted into a total flow rate of the pressurized fluid flowing through the perforation clusters, which can in turn be used to calculate a cluster level uniformity index for the hydraulic fracturing well.

In some aspects, a method of the technology includes steps for receiving acoustic training data, wherein the acoustic training data comprises signals representing acoustic tool contact with a wellbore surface, and generating a suppression model based on the acoustic training data, wherein the suppression model is configured to suppress roadnoise received at a hydrophone array disposed within the wellbore.
