摘要: Boot systems and boot attachment methods are provided to protect a double-tube vehicle driveshaft from premature wear or corrosion. One boot system comprises a boot portion having annular folds, opposite ends, and collar portions. The collar portions adjoin the boot portion at its opposite ends. At least one of the collar portions has a splined portion. The boot system may be utilized in a driveshaft comprising first and second members having splined portions. The second member of such a driveshaft is telescopically resident within the first member, and the splined portion of the first member cooperates with the splined portion of the second member. The boot attachment method involves sliding the boot over at least a part of the first and second members of the driveshaft, and securing the first and second collar portions to the respective first and second members. During this process, the splined portion of at least one of the collar portions cooperates with the splined portion of at least one of the first and second members.

摘要: When forcibly mounting a fixture attached with a joint boot on an outer circumferential surface of an outer cup, a thick-walled section is pressed between an inclined surface of the outer cup and an annular stepped section of the fixture. Accordingly, the thick-walled section is elastically deformed and in close contact with the inclined surface for effecting sealing function.

摘要: A wheel bearing with an integrated constant velocity joint. The joint has a sheet-metal outer ring. Drive torque is transmitted from the outer ring of the constant velocity joint to the inner ring flange of a surrounding bearing by a tooth system. The tooth system is formed in the inner ring flange in such a way that it supports a wavelike outer contour of the outer ring of the constant velocity joint over a defined circumferential length section of the outer ring. The outer ring of the joint has tracks that mesh with the tooth system. The ends of the tracks are bent inward away from the tooth system.

摘要: A wheel drive unit is provided to comprise a bearing unit 3c for wheel drive which is light in weight and low in cost. The components constituting the bearing unit 3c for wheel drive have optimum properties to secure the durability thereof. Of the components constituting the bearing unit 3c for wheel drive, the portions indicated by a diagonal grid hatching are quench-hardened with the other portions being not quench-hardened and left as they are, whereby the rolling fatigue life and wear-resistance of the components are improved and cracking is prevented.
