Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of systems, methods, and products comprising a computing device, which provides Efficient Data-In-Transit Protection Techniques for Handheld Devices (EDITH) to protect data-in-transit. An end user device (EUD) may generate a multicast data packet. The EDITH module of the EUD encapsulates the data packet in a GRE packet and directs the GRE packet to a unicast destination address of an EDITH Multicast Router included in an infrastructure. The EDITH module on the EUD double compresses and double encrypts the GRE packet. The EDITH module on the infrastructure decrypts and decompresses the double compressed and double encrypted GRE packet to recreate the GRE packet. The EDITH module on the infrastructure decapsulates the GRE packet to derive the original multicast data packet, and distributes the original multicast data packet to the multiple group member based on the multicast destination address included in the original multicast data packet.

Abstract: A method is provided for operating a network switch comprising a plurality of input ports and a plurality of output ports. The method comprises receiving a first data packet received via a first input port and a second data packet received via a second input port to be delivered to an egress endpoint connected to a first output port, configuring a plurality of crossbar switch units arranged in a tiled architecture to pass the first data packet to the first output port via a primary path and pass the second data packet to the first output port via a secondary path, and transmitting the first data packet and the second data packet to the egress endpoint. The first data packet and the second data packet pass through the plurality of crossbar switch units simultaneously.

Abstract: Techniques for leveraging MLD capabilities at edge nodes of network fabrics to receive SNMAs from silent hosts, and creating unicast addresses from the SNMAs for the silent nodes that are used as secondary matches in a network overlay if primary unicast address lookups fail. The edge nodes described herein may act as snoopers of MLD reports in order to identify the SNMAs of the silent hosts. The edge nodes then forge unicast addresses for the silent hosts that match with the least three bytes of the SNMAs. The forged unicast addresses are presented as unicast MAC/IP mappings in the fabric overlay. In situations where a primary IP address lookup fails, the look-up device performs a secondary lookup for a mapped address that has the last three bytes of the IP address. If a mapping is found, the lookup is sent as a unicast message to the matching MAC address.

Abstract: Exemplified systems and methods facilitate multicasting latency optimization operations for router, switches, and other network devices, for routed Layer-3 multicast packets to provide even distribution latency and/or selective prioritized distribution of latency among multicast destinations. A list of network destinations for serially-replicated packets is traversed in different sequences from one packet to the next, to provide delay fairness among the listed destinations. The list of network destinations are mapped to physical network ports, virtual ports, or logical ports of the router, switches, or other network devices and, thus, the different sequences are also traversed from these physical network ports, virtual ports, or logical ports. The exemplified systems and methods facilitates the management of traffic that is particularly beneficial in in a data center.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method according to the present disclosure includes receiving a topology change advertisement at a remote core edge node and performing a network address information removal operation. The topology change advertisement is received from a core edge node that is in communication with an access network. The topology change advertisement indicates that a topology change has occurred in the access network. The network address information removal operation removes network address information stored by the remote core edge node. The network address information is used by the remote core edge node in participating in communications with the core edge node.

Abstract: Techniques for improving convergence of Protocol Independent Multicast assert state information in multicast groups include forwarding, by a router, a PIM join message originating from a destination host and stores distribution tree information based on the join message. The method further includes participating, by the router, in a Protocol Independent Multicast (“PIM”) assert election among a plurality of routers and storing, by the router, PIM assert state information based on an outcome of the PIM assert election.
