摘要: A system accesses an image with each pixel of the image having luminance values each representative of a color component of the pixel. The system generates a first histogram for aggregate luminance values of the image, and accesses a target histogram for the image representative of a desired global image contrast. The system computes a transfer function based on the first histogram and the target histogram such that when the transfer function is applied, a histogram of the modified aggregate luminance values is within a threshold similarity of the target histogram. The system modifies the image by applying the transfer function to the luminance values of the image to produce a tone mapped image, and outputs the modified image.

摘要: The present invention discloses a multimedia device for processing a video signal and control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the multimedia device includes a controller configured to perform tone mapping, a dynamic contrast function, and a local contrast function. The controller performs the tone mapping not only on an HDR video signal but also on an SDR video signal. When performing the tone mapping on the SDR video signal, the controller amplifies only an intermediate-gradient region without adjusting low-gradient and high-gradient regions. When performing the dynamic contrast function, the controller only an intermediate-gradient region of the video signal without adjusting low-gradient and high-gradient regions. When performing the local contrast function, the controller divides the video signal into blocks, calculates an APL value of each block, and then applies a linear curve based on the APL value.

摘要: In a converting method relating to picture luminance according to one aspect of the present disclosure, the picture luminance is formed by luminance values in a first luminance range. In this method, a first luminance signal that indicates code values obtained by quantizing the luminance value of the picture is obtained, code values, which are associated with the code values indicated by the obtained first luminance signal by quantization for a second luminance range different in a maximum value from the first luminance range are determined as converted code values, and the first luminance signal is converted into a second luminance signal indicating the converted code values. As a result, the converting method is further improved.
