    摘要： In a vehicle visual recognition apparatus, an image capturing unit includes a rear camera that outputs a first captured image obtained by capturing an image of the rear of a vehicle, and a side camera that outputs a second captured image obtained by capturing an image of the rear side of the vehicle from the side of a vehicle body such that a part of an image capturing region of the side camera overlaps an image capturing region of a first image capturing means. An image boundary is set in an overlapping region between the first captured image and the second captured image, a first display image is extracted from the first captured image, and a second display image is extracted from the second captured image. An image of a following vehicle of the vehicle, which is included in the first captured image, is detected. A rear image obtained by joining the first display image and the second display image is displayed on a monitor to be visible to an occupant such that the image of the following vehicle is disposed in the first display image.
